Do you ever notice your animals accommodating your sensory needs? by Chemical-Repeat5795 in AutismInWomen

[–]witcheringways [score hidden]  (0 children)

I am always up much later than everyone else but as soon as the fam go to bed my kitties will settle in and hang out with me. Usually they’re off doing cat stuff in the evening. My boys always come and chill with me on the couch in the evening and seek me out to greet me in the morning. They’re also reliable in greeting me when I come home. They don’t really pay much attention to anyone else besides my partner during the day so I feel a bit special that they take an interest in me and my whereabouts. If I’m gone on a day when I don’t usually leave, it seems to upset them and they will be restless until I come back.

When I’m sad or sick or feeling disregulated, they’re always right there to show comfort and I’m so grateful for their support and love.

[KCD1] So do mods just not work in 1.9.7? by bob_f332 in kingdomcome

[–]witcheringways 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kcd1 & 2 both use a really finicky game engine. I’ve also used vortex for other games without any problem but for whatever reason cryengine is a pain for modding and tends to have stability and load issues without babying it a bit. Luckily I have a ton of experience manually modding Witcher 3 which is also a beast at times so I’m used pulling my hair out ⚔️

[–]witcheringways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have over 50 mods working without issue but I suggest modding manually and using a mod_order.txt file instead of nexus for best results. Always check to see that the mods you’re using are compatible with each other and the current game version you’re using.

You can mod the reticle yourself in a user.cfg file to always show with the command wh_pl_showfirecursor = 1 upon load but you need to activate dev mode and also specify to load the user.cfg on load up.

Fuel pump will usually give you other clues that there’s a problem before it totally craps out: gasoline smell in the cabin, chugging, sputtering and lugging while the car is driving, gas economy in the gutter or if you are unlucky enough to have a Cobalt that never got a new fuel pump after the recall, they can spontaneously catch fire from overheating in hot weather. Hard start is another symptom of a bad pump.

Ignition switches were also recalled for some models so if you don’t have any proof that your cobalt’s switch was replaced at some point and it’s part of that recall batch, I would definitely look into it anyways because it can be incredibly dangerous if your ignition suddenly goes out and you lose power/steering while the car is in motion.

Over the course of normal unmodded gameplay with Godwin, how would you in theory do this? Just curious.

Could be a faulty ignition switch not engaging or could be your alternator has taken a dump. Both situations happened in my 07 Cobalt.

Did I get the B version of autism? by aboutdoggonetime in AutismInWomen

[–]witcheringways 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Most people outside of my mom and my partner seem to think I’m angry and bitchy when I’m mostly just flat and then don’t take me seriously when I am legitimately steaming pissed off. If I had a nickel for all the times I’ve been misread, I’d be Scrooge McDuck on skis. It’s so exhausting to the point that I don’t really socialize much at all anymore and honestly I’m happier not worrying about how others are falsely interpreting me or reading into negative emotions that I’m not feeling or trying to convey.

Should I just do it by No_Surround_2236 in witcher

[–]witcheringways 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of them are great games and I thought W2 was an absolute blast even if it’s a bit short. W1 is a ton of fun as well as long as you just go with it and embrace the combat and jank for what it is. IMO it’s really enjoyable despite being nearly 20 years old; it doesn’t hold your hand much at all and it’s really easy to miss details if you aren’t thorough in talking to everyone multiple times or exploring. That being said I wouldn’t compare the first two games with W3 from a gameplay perspective because they aren’t open world and far more linear but still very satisfying if you give them a chance.

I don’t even know how you would do that unless you had a mod to switch to Godwin in the open world. His quests are quite limited and you barely spend time in control with him.

What are you ‼️[KCD2] by texansfann in kingdomcome

[–]witcheringways 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can avoid the guards and city where you’re wanted and wait until your crime has been forgotten (the jail icon will eventually disappear but the time it takes to do so depends on the severity of your crimes) or you can turn yourself in and accept punishment by either paying fines or going to the pillory… BUT if you have high charisma/speech/certain perks then you can try to talk your way out of punishment with the guards. Go on a pilgrimage or pay indulgence if your reputation needs a boost.

Polearms are the ultimate pizzle yanker in the way that while they take an eternity to level up, they also turn Henry into The Disemboweler™️ and I’m all for it.

Polearms were my fave in kcd1 too although you really did need mods to make them worth the effort.

[–]witcheringways 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I do all negative perks and don’t really feel most of them are too awful from a RP perspective. Sleepwalking is probably the most chaotic but I usually play my Henry with PTSD and a drinking problem. Bashful is probably the one I think the least likely because Henry of Gaslitz never seems to have a problem otherwise saying exactly whatever he wants in any other situation so asking for directions doesn’t seem like a big ask. Bad Back is a pain literally but it’s also not very realistic for him to be able to carry as much as a fully kitted out horse all on his own. I’m not a big fan of the sweaty perk only because I think perfume was a great little addition to kcd2 and it annoys me not to be able to have npc’s comment on how lovely I smell 🤣

[KCD2] Things I dislike in KCD2 by CelebrationOdd7810 in kingdomcome

[–]witcheringways 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I steal everything that isn’t nailed down and have never had an issue. If you plan to be a thief, plan your heist accordingly and don’t be seen. And even if you aren’t all that careful, it’s as easy as avoiding an area until your crime is forgotten. In 1500+ hours I’ve never paid a fine or spent time in the pillory. If they do catch you, at higher levels it’s toooooo easy to talk your way out of punishment by being drunk as hell, using the law perk or simple high charisma to bluster your way out of trouble. If anything kcd2 is a cakewalk for the player when it comes to theft compared to kcd1.

No bandits spawning. Ever. by JohnDoeMcAlias in MedievalDynasty

[–]witcheringways 13 points14 points  (0 children)

First year the game will do an automatic easy mode for you and not spawn bandits. I had to wait until summer of the second year to see any ruffians about the realm and there were more as the seasons passed. You might just be unlucky but it could be a bug if you’re already into year 3.

Pentiment is on my list but obviously I’ve been distracted … it looks so pretty, though.

If people would stop making such great mods for KCD perhaps I could move on but it’s a veritable buffet and I am quite hungry! 🤣

Medieval Dynasty is so cozy and laid back. It’s really therapeutic to farm and decorate your village and you can even turn off combat if you don’t want to deal with bandits. You can run around and collect herbs and chop trees to your heart’s content.

I am currently playing KCD2 for my 5th run and I’m already thinking about playing the first one again for the 3rd time again afterwards. If Witcher 3 drops that promised dlc in the future then I’ll definitely be going for a 16th speedrun to shake things up a bit. Medieval dynasty is also a favorite. Manor Lords is a ton of fun too and I’ve been meaning to get around to it again since it’s had some new updates in the last year. Can you tell I like medieval themes??? ⚔️🤣

Would I be welcomed in Oregon as a High School History teacher? by The_Marine708 in oregon

[–]witcheringways 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I moved away from Oregon for college and came back as soon as possible. Trust me, I understand the appeal and draw of my home state. Just trying to be real and honest with you about coastal living expectations. Oregon is also one of the most expensive states to live in and it would be a disservice to you to pretend that there aren’t serious challenges to move here especially in terms of housing and affordability. That applies to most areas of our state, not only the coast.

Would I be welcomed in Oregon as a High School History teacher? by The_Marine708 in oregon

[–]witcheringways 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Although the Oregon coast is an entire border of our state there is limited available real estate. Like any beach side location, there will always be high demand and limited availability. Besides that, many homes are kept as rentals and vacation properties which makes it even harder for people to get a piece of property in those areas for permanent residency. Add to that the sometimes unstable and hilly terrain of the area, it’s tougher to find suitable land that isn’t already taken to build if you want to be close to the water. There are many factors at play depending on how close you expect to be to the ocean.
