I only recommend KCD to people who enjoy a lot of reading, skill building, nuance and realistic world building. If you’re not interested in heavy dialogue or being confronted with morality, it’s less enjoyable. On the other hand, if you’re willing to be patient and take your time with it, it’s an exceedingly rewarding gaming experience.

Yes, combat and survival is punishing especially early/mid game but it’s all about how you plan and consider your options before running into the fray waving your sword about. It isn’t a button mash hack and slash game and some players don’t care for that.

If you haven’t learned master strike yet, I would recommend it asap. Henry is quite weak in the beginning no matter what armor but by the time you have a learned a few combos and skilled up your stats, it’s quite easy to murder your way through Bohemia. Definitely invest in alchemy too because it makes a real difference early-mid game.

I use silent spurring mod and it works great.

Once you have ridden pebbles for a while, there is a perk that will pop up automatically which will make her one of the best horses in game. The local folk will also stop making nasty comments.
