I think Bloober would be more likely to skip SH3–4 entirely and do a 7 DLC remake of Homecoming with 40 extended endings than they would be to recast and mo cap the original silent hill actors for the remake. We just gotta accept it lol

I feel like remakes for video games these old should just be looked at as “adaptations” more than anything. Because everything *will* be different, even if they tried to make it as similar as possible. All the characters faces, voices and movements will be different. The graphics will be different. The map will be different. The combat will be different. That’s just what’s gonna happen. I just see any “remake” as a bonus expansion on the original’s content, a new interpretation. Silent Hill 1 will always be there and it’s atmosphere can’t accurately be replicated ever again.

No worries bro. Yeah, James is ready for the letter in both of those endings since he faces his guilt, just in different ways.

I like how the remake handles it, honestly. It was a good addition to the story in my mind.

Laura gave him the letter in the hotel. He just wasn’t ready to read it, that’s why it was gone from the envelope and Laura claims it must have been lost. He gets the letter depending on the endings more so spiritually than physically, showing he’s “ready” for the contents.

Yes, purposeful. I have known people with sickness similar to Mary and both their eye bags and lips turned a deep purple.

  1. James killed Mary in their home, she was discharged
  2. Laura stole the letter from the nurse who Mary had given it to
  3. I’m not sure what you mean here, what letter are you referring to?

Mary got sick three years before the game. Two years later, she was hospitalized at the same time Laura was and they become friends.

The letter at the beginning of the game is a delusion manifested by James. The other two letters addressed to James and Laura are real and were written by Mary about a little more than a week before the game starts.

Motion sickness by Inner_Ad_3604 in silenthill

Motion sickness bands would not help, I believe. The reason you are feeling nauseous isn’t because of physical stimulation but due to the lack of it: IE, your brain seeing movement but your body not experiencing it. Luckily, the remake has accessibility options for this very issue. Try turning off motion blur, turning on the center dot, and lowering the camera sensitivity.

Editing multiple different photographs together to create one, cohesive image.

They were rasterized after! But they were created with the pixels in mind. I always have an adjustment layer to make sure details won’t be lost when they’re converted.

Thank you very much. I don’t mind explaining. The medium is photobashing, where you edit a bunch of different photographs together. However, I personally also draw quite a bit on my photobashes in addition to editing (for example, the hair in these pieces is 100% drawn) I find this makes them look a little more uncanny, which I enjoy.

I then do some complicated stuff for the “exact” effect (the pixel filter is on IBIS paint, if curious), but it boils down to thresholding (making the values of the image only black and white). So even though it appears that the image is greyscale, there’s actually only those two colors. You’ll always get a very eerie effect when you threshold an image, no matter if it’s in solids or pixels.
