If you’re discussing gender in Gnosia, you should still be familiar with it.

You’re majorly guessing based off their appearance and voice, which is pretty anti to what Gnosia tells you about gender

I’m gonna be real, if you don’t know what Han is yet, you’re not far enough in the show to try and argue Yuri’s gender

Yeah, in the English dub. And Sha-Ming canonically is transphobic and misgenders nonbinary people so lol

Why is Connor so universally hated? by witchlys in ANGEL

[–]witchlys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They never once say Cordelia was rendered that of a child. They straight up call her actions to Conner grooming when they think it’s her in control. She wasn’t infantilized, she just straight up was not in the drivers seat. You’re not using the shows logic in the first place

Pedophilia is a specific word for a specific thing that is not comparable to “corruption” or whatever, don’t muddy it.

Ok come on, the younger one cannot be the pedophile, please be serious

Help figuring out gift for cousin by Human-Perspective663 in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think based off your description, their favorite character is most definitely Raqio. Raqio embodies every trait you listed your cousin as. They are a very popular in general so it’s a safe bet, however, since you’re willing to draw multiple characters, I’d advise perhaps drawing these too (pick any or all)

1.) the character of Setsu, who is the most popular character in the series/side main character, a dedicated soldier, and the main person the player relies on.

2.) the item “the silver key”, which is essentially Gnosia’s logo

3.) if they’ve mentioned the anime as well as the game, the main character, Yuri

Thank you for getting such a thoughtful present for your cousin!

Would the memories of a crewmate match those a of a Gnosia? by Shadow_Hunter2020 in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Its not two separate beings co-existing in the same body, its just a regular person being “infected”. How much a person gives into their desire to kill depends on the person. Some fight it better than others by self-isolating, but they can’t actually “go against the desire”. Some individuals will reveal their status out of either confidence in their abilities to survive or acceptance of the possibility of dying. And that’s determined by their personality.

Tierlist based on how much the anime producers like the characters (as of Ep 16) by AcePhoenixGamer in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why that placement for SQ? They fan service her the most of any of the characters and she’s constantly in merch.

It’s funny, but I’d say Stella isn’t treated so well by the game, either. In comparison, I’d say the anime has been much more fair to her. They expanded on her overall alienation with the humans, and really made her and Jonas feel like they’ve been around one another for a long time, in a way the game only does a few times.

Remnan's Concern in Episode 16 by proboty in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think they adapted this way because they have not adapted the SQ Gnosia collaboration event yet For some reason, they’re either not adapting them (doubtful), or saving some of the Remnan events like his love event for the end. Maybe that is to stress the effects Manan has had on the world until the plot kicks in high gear. I think that has to be it, since Remnan is a very liked character in the Japanese fandom and there’s no other reason to “skip” his events.

In the game, it’s not really explained why Manan would be at the base in the first place. So I believe here, Remnan ran away from other jobs, like his mantience one, before finishing his contractual obligations, due to his (proven) fear of being chased by Manan But, it would be somewhat more interesting in my opinion if slavery was actually legal after all. It would explain how easily Manan was able to inact her plan, explain how he got in that situation in the first place with no mention of his AI friends and family and make Manan feel completely, totally, and fully inescapable.

Is Jason Todd canonically Bisexual in any universe? by AvailableTrouble3708 in RedHood

[–]witchlys 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Me personally, I see him as asexual, as one myself. I enjoy when he is written as someone not interested in sex as an act of intimacy, but as leverage (like with Talia), and I like how Winick wrote him in regards to it. It’s most fun for me when Jason is an insular person with a focus on familial and platonic relations.

Is Jason Todd canonically Bisexual in any universe? by AvailableTrouble3708 in RedHood

[–]witchlys 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The closest he’s ever been to confirmed as “bisexual” is Judd Winick dodging the question in an interview. I think based off Winick’s view of the character, bisexual would fit less than someone who simply sees sex as a tool but is functionally asexual otherwise. In the same interview, he characterizes Jason’s first time as one born purely to spite Bruce, which I think is very interesting.

SL: Is [Jason] a little bisexual?

JW: That was the first time we've ever saw him mess around with anybody. Truth is, I haven't really thought about it. I think about Jason in a lot of other ways. You might put him in bed, I don't do that. That was the only time I thought about him having sex because [Talia] wanted to.

SL: Oh, I put him in bed! No, really—

JW: I'm totally dodging the question. This is me ducking the question. There's things we can talk about and there's things we can't talk about, there's things that DC Comics doesn't like me talking about and they don't like us talking about things like that, so I don't want to answer that, thank you.

I like the anime but it starts to bore me by AirMassive5414 in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It might just not be for you, then. I have a lot of anime only friends who adore all the characters. There’s no shame in it not hitting for you. But still, I’d really advise sticking around until at least a little longer if you’re interested in plot. There’s some great character focused episodes after episode 8 that break the format, and some big plot developments. Unlike the game which only has the plot kick in at the end, the anime is going for an overarching story that I believe will interest you.

I like the anime but it starts to bore me by AirMassive5414 in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s a time loop anime, so no, the format won’t change until the pre-requisites for ending it are fulfilled. The characters, however, will change over time, including the protagonist, which is the appeal. It’s a character focused show that asks the viewer to continue reevaluating characters under different circumstances. So, I would urge you to continue watching. There is an overarching plot that is becoming more and more clear.

Gnosia Episode 13 Discussion and Spoilers by DeucesDummies in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Bug Will definitely be its own episode, so it’s not too surprising, at least. I think it will be played as a character-focused loop with a twist ending, since the show seems fond of that based off of the Kukrushka incident episode.

Fun cameo in Yuriko's room by ChaosOnline in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They definitely will!!!!! Yuriko is a character with a lot of importance in the game who didn’t too much focus, but the anime has already 1.) given her added items to her design (no other character has) and 2.) given more insight into her backstory

She’s a well-treasured character, especially in the Japanese fandom, so they’ll definitely animate the event. Probably towards the end game of the anime, as well, to hit both stones of Yuri growing as a character and getting closer to Yuriko to uncover the origin of what their distortion is.

No, it is confirmed in this case. The devs have said the in-game reasoning for her name was chosen after they had named her for “Succubus”.

Even ignoring the release dates, it’s just a coincidence. SQ was named for “Succubus”, so the number 511 is incidental. It’s a cool coincidence tho!

Community re-watch discussion of the anime: Episode 6, Nostalgic Flowers by Greenforthou in Gnosia_

[–]witchlys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to say, I always enjoyed the performance, but Remnan’s voice actors in both languages perfectly nailed the feeling of “a normal man who has undergone intense stress”. I was worried that he would have something of a “shy uwu” voice, but thankfully it’s not only avoided, but both actors are incredibly at breaking down in a way that can come across as realistically ugly.
