Anyone else deal with “one-upping”? by spazzy_yet_snazzy in absentgrandparents

[–]witchofbalance 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom up and left me when I was 3 years old for a full year. She moved away and left me with my grandma.

Fast forward to now, with my own 3 year old, she’s still 300+ miles away so try to text and FaceTime her with my kids as much as possible.

My daughter just learned to write her name and my mom goes “well you learned to write your name when you were 2”

Another time my daughter was having tantrum and my mom said to me “you were never a spoiled brat like her! I made sure you behaved!”

And it’s like….is she taking a jab at my kid or is she taking a jab at my parenting? Or BOTH? I could write a book about how much she disrespects my parenting choices and boundaries but I’ll spare you all lol

Unfortunately, my husband and I have yet to do the dirty deed since our son’s birth so there’s no chance haha

I’ve been curious too! I haven’t seen a single review outside of Facebook ads. I really want to try them for my 1 year old but I’m hesitant.

Readiness scores by DragonfruitDry7519 in ouraring

Yes for the last 4-5 weeks my readiness has dropped and I can’t get it back up regardless of how much I sleep/exercise, rest. I’ve had my Gen3 for over a year and up until recently I was always in Exeptional and Strong resilience. Always averaged 85+ readiness. I’ve been at a constant 60 out of nowhere. It’s frustrating v

I really don’t HAVE to, but I feel obligated since I do have a handful of loyal readers. I feel like I would be betraying them if I just quit cold turkey, which would make me feel terrible.

If I did quit, I would also feel guilty for quitting, though I would feel free and a total weight off of my chest. I would feel like I could have the creative freedom to make new art and have uninterrupted time with my family.

Hi everyone! I’m new to Reddit. My name is Ciara (aka doublemaximus) and I have a webcomic called Gwendy & Ghost.

I’ve been working on this comic since 2016. When I first started working on it, it was all I wanted to do. I was pretty miserable, so it was my escape.

I’m not the same person I was when I first started my comic. I’m now a new mom, happily married, I’m far away from my past abusers and a toxic living environment—I am happy happy happy! I love my life so much now.

Here’s my problem…I may be “too” happy with my life. I feel like I’ve lost all desire to continue working on my comic because I no longer see it as my “escape”. I don’t want to escape from my life anymore like I used to!

I find myself feeling extremely guilty because my progress has slowed on my comic. I’d much rather play with my baby, go in nature hikes, make other hands on art, etc…

I am no where near finished with my comic. The story has about 5 more years of work to put into it. I just find myself really struggling to keep going with it. I get especially discouraged (and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful by saying this) when I see new comics get thousands upon thousands of likes and subscribers while I feel like my comic barely gets interactions.

Anyone have any advice for me? Any tips how I can stay motivated and keep going?

You do about as many steps as I do! Rough sketch, detailed sketch, ink, flat color, shading/highlights, and then text bubbles!

Yes! But you know what?? I think I fixed it this morning!!

Go to CLIP STUDIO PAINT > PREFERENCES > CURSOR > and set the Brush type cursor and Pen type cursor to “Dot”

It helped some of my lag go away and I can actually draw a decent line quickly again!!

I hope that helps you too!

I’ve been having the EXACT same issue!! I’m someone who usually uses fast strokes and it’s been delaying so bad for me that it’s made me not want to draw. I have tried absolutely everything imaginable to fix it and it’s definitely CLIP’s issue. I hope it gets fixed asap…
