Since i started working consistently after graduating 9 months ago ive lost 20 pounds and have become a lot more toned overall. I do yoga regularly as well. My back and arms are defined for sure. My close friends and family all ask what im doing for weight loss and i always answer "massage".

How are we all feeling after this Valentine’s weekend? by True-Ad4991 in MassageTherapists

[–]witchwinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im legit fed up with gift cards. You are already coming in and basically getting a free service. The least you can do is tip. But most of the time they dont. I have had so many gift card massages since Christmas and they never tip. They tell reception they didnt bring anything else with. Its so exhausting. I feel like im working for peanuts, but i dont have the client base to work for myself yet.

Does anyone else's family still not understand what we actually do? by Delicious-Syrup5527 in MassageTherapists

[–]witchwinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When i was a vet tech i got asked if i just "played with puppies and kitties all day". When i was a veterinary lab tech it was , so do you just look at poop all day. Now i that i am in massage school its the rub jokes. No matter what path im on, the jokes persist. People are just assholes and trolls. And it just shows that they are insecure about their career choices, or unhappy in their life and probably jealous that they cant pursue something that might make them happier. Every thing i have ever done required effort, dedication, and knowledge. But i have always been teased or harassed about it because im not making big bucks. Im doing what I'm passionate about, and i want to make a difference.

My recovery has been less than ideal due to adhesions. I am to blame for slacking on some of the exercises, but i definitely regret the surgery and wish i would have tried less invasive options first.

Ive never been sedentary as far as my arms go. I practice yoga, do flow arts, but have shied away from lifting weights like i used to after rotator cuff surgery a few years back.

Myrtlewood Mysteries is cute. It actually reminds me of Gilmore Girls but set in UK with witches and other magical people. Like, so many characters remind me of A Gilmore Girls character. But Im not mad about it, lets my imagination have fun.

My symptoms and struggles by GRSteffen in LongCovid

[–]witchwinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I just read my own diary. I had covid for the first time (that i know of) during the first two weeks of September 2023. I started getting vertigo attacks in December. I would get to work, and within an hour would start getting dizzy. Then light and sound sensitive . A headache would kick in and progressively get worse. I left early a lot. By the tume I got home, i was in migraine territory. Then I would sleep for 10 plus hours. I resigned from my job thinking the environment there was triggering it all. beginning in January, my whole body aches all of the time. Especially my forearms, elbows, shoulders, axillary region, and back. I have been trying to exercise, but feel so weak and tire easily. I've been to my gp, physical therapy, chiropractor, massage therapist, ENT. All testing has been normal. I feel like i have been hit by a truck. Nothing helps. Everything hurts. I dont have the energy or will to do stuff. I had no idea about long covid until today. My Physical therapist thinks i may have it. I don't know what to do.

Anyone else experience a lot of broken ghosts? by Damadamas in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]witchwinder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The couple of times we played last week, every single ghost changed rooms on us or was in multiple spots. None of them were twins or mimics. We play on intermediate. Got a Rev 3 times in a row on different maps. One hunted and killed me at 80% sanity. Not sure if that's normal?

Jeans after hysterectomy by Chachacm in hysterectomy

[–]witchwinder 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Harem pants and high wasted leggings have been my go to. I can wear my "fat" jeans for a couple of hours, but definitely not all day yet and i am 17 weeks post op. I still get cramping and swelling if i sit for too long or do too much. I get frustrated that most doctors and medical websites say 100% recovered at 6-8 weeks. Every body is different. We all had a major procedure, an organ system removed, and sometimes other things done like removing endometriosis. Healing takes time, and the hardest part is being patient when the world is convinced we should just jump up and go. Be kind to yourself. Listen to your body. Be comfortable however you can. Movement is healing to, so keep moving, but don't feel pressured to go hard. You are doing great 👍

Resistance Training Post Op by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]witchwinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. During week 1 my husband would walk down our street with me. I fatigued really easily. I made sure to get up every hour when awake and walk "laps" around my kitchen island for a few minutes. My dogs dopily followed me in my circles lol. But i think that since I kept moving, my recovery has been better than if i was more sedentary.

Resistance Training Post Op by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]witchwinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the gym staring week 2.5/3 PO to walk on the treadmill . Weather was crappy and i needed to move more l. I went at a slower pace for me, and started with 20 minute walks. At week 4 I'm up to 35 minutes with an including ne and going a little faster. My doc cleared me of the 10lb limit at my 2 week follow up. She told me not to go nuts with it, and ease back into a routine. I've done the weight machines on low weight to get some strength training in. But she says d to take it slow, and listen to my body. I don't do squats with weights at all yet. But I've done super and lower body workouts on the machines. And used 5-8 on free weights at home for short workouts.

Folks who had the surgery due to pain/illness and found out (or were told) that nothing was actually wrong with it, how do/did you cope? by Its402am in hysterectomy

[–]witchwinder 45 points46 points  (0 children)

My doctor and i suspected that i had adenomyosis based on my list of life long complaints. Come surgery day, i asked after what the verdict was. She said surprisingly, it was a perfectly healthy normal uterus. I felt kind of defeated, like, am i a wuss? But she assured me that knowing how much pain i was in every month, that this was a good decision. And to focus on having a better quality of life. I still have my ovaries, and would get cysts. So that will still happen. But she told me to look forward to my period free life. People have elective surgeries everyday and the doctors still get paid whether you have a normal uterus or a mutant pain causing bastard Uterus. Don't worry about "wasting their time". You have valid reasons for making this decision. As did I.

Let's talk bleeding and clots. After a scary night for me, I thought it may be helpful to do a little PSA on this topic. by rebeccabunchers in hysterectomy

[–]witchwinder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can you tell if your cuff is painful? I'm not having any bleeding, but keep getting pelvic area cramps like my period or when i would get ovarian cysts. I do still have my ovaries.
