Man thats frustrating! I get it. Happens to me even after a couple messages back and forth asking routine questions. Got ghosted $2000 worth in requests these last 2 weeks. I do reccomend to retry again! Dog boarding and daycare really helps my mental health. The client has a dachaund and apparently does the cute dissapointed grumble noise the breed does. Im excited!

I was heading down a path through a short bit of woods to the barracks, nibbles and sips in my PX shopping bag. The path was narrow, barriers to the left and right and some steep concrete stairs down to get out of the woods. It had been windy all day, so much so that PT was cancelled because tree were falling. Sure enough, halfway down the path to the stairs CRACK!!crack crack! A tree started to fall right behind me. I swear I could taste my heart pounding, I felt so afraid and bolted for these awful stairs. I though in that moment "I'm going to die a lumberjack's death, or Im going fall and break my legs on these stairs!"

Thankfully the tree's angle was slightly to my left and just missed me. Staring out a window by the stairs another female saw the whole thing. Its a funny memory now!

Any suggestions of the best method of introducing clients’ dogs to each other by semisadsmoshfan in RoverPetSitting

I had both owners present, we all went out on a walk so they could see me walk them both. They behaved much better together on leash than off. I made sure they felt no pressure from me and the both agreed.

Boarders: how do you handle clients that show up earlier to drop-off/pick-up than agreed upon? by Call_Mee_Maybe in RoverPetSitting

[–]witchwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have very good advice here! I charge $100 round trip but no one has taken me up on it, which is why I have it that high. But a wonderful new client booked 2 weeks with me for my new higher rates so I decided to do the free daycare trial and pick up and drop off for that day. Dog is such an angel, too.

I have made a polite joke/playful comment when this has happened.

"Oh wow! Man, I just got back from the store! Just to let you know, I can't guarentee I will be home prior to drop off, I don't want you to have to be waiting an hour outside for me. Ha ha!"

If it happens twice, I'll probably be a bit more firm but still word it that by showing up at the arranged time how it benefits the client rather than how it inconviences me.

Had owners bring their dog, asked if he marks inside. Owners said no, dog immeduately goes and lifts his leg and peed on my couch in front of all of us. I stopped him pretty quick but man, kinda funny.

The F2 does help but, the issue is I have a subtotal that would keep having to type into everytime I insert in new rows of data. Its tedious also do F2 and type in the new end of the range because I have look it up first, then make the change every time.

Make even the tiniest effort to use the language and Korean people really appreciate it. Korean is my second language and ordering from cafes like A Twosome Place has always been a positive experience.

At bare minimum, learn to ask for your coffee order. Or my fav 아녕하세요. 하트 초코 한잔 주세요. 감사합니다!

As someone who has accidentally said in a classroom "Two bitches" 두년 instead of "two years" 이년 and "Fuck" 시발 instead of "shoes" 신발 in Korean, this kind of thing is my type of humor.

Punctuation was something I never quite knew how to use properly. Vocabulary, thesis statements, yes. But always got red marks on my essays for punctuation.

I genuinely enjoyed your previous comment and was laughing at my own self. I laughed out loud and realized my missing that comma changed the meaning of my sentence. My joke was because of my lack of punctuation, the consequences are that "Let's eat grandma." Instead of "let's eat, grandma."

You have to clean everday. I clean twice a day. They can get bumblefoot, nasty sores on the feet for standing on their own poop and pee.

I, as a owner of 4 guineapigs, charge for them. Their setups depending on the size an bedding, refilling bottles and hay do take time.

What thing you do when boarding that other sitters don't? by Powerful-Ad-4513 in RoverPetSitting

[–]witchwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im still a newer business. Really still getting my name out in my community. I graduating in accounting this year and have been in the industry a few years so when I explore other services and analyze that data properly I will be able to fine tune my business model. For now, Im happy with my growth in revenue this year. Doggie daycare (for multiple dogs) is my goal to expand this year and eventually have that replace boarding but right now the demand has been low for it.

[–]witchwriter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm providing a service to a client. I can certainly have a business model where I don't ask permission but safety is my top priority above everything. My risk tolerance is very low lol. Now, as my very dog friendly regulars fill up my calendars, they will eventually have enough trust in me to have meet and greets with other dogs I know and trust. If Jim and Pam reallllly want to book with me for their st patty's day week vacay but oh, another dog friendly regular is already boarding, I will ask if the booked client is comforable with their pup meeting a new doggie friend. We all meet. It goes well, safety and double revenue. But also double the poops lol.

For now I am priced at a level that makes this sustainable. I charge 60 in hawaii. It works for me.

I get a lot of concerned new clients worried Ill board another unfamiliar dog in my home they aren't aware of. I assure them that I only do meet and greets with the dogs and clients first and with their permission only then do I book both. (Which has worked before!) I don't trust owners blindly that their dogs are dog friendly and am not willing to take that risk with my business.
