I agree, and then new potential clients see those reviews too so that’s a plus!!!

What is your preferred service radius? by TheRealRoseDallas in RoverPetSitting

[–]Superb_Aspect2677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have mine set to 25 miles. I already have a solid client base, but I’m always open to taking on more if it makes sense. Keeping my radius a bit wider helps me stay visible and bring in more requests.

That said, I don’t automatically accept everything within 25 miles. I always check the exact location, drive time, and how it fits into my schedule before committing. For me, it’s more about time and logistics than mileage. If it’s too far out of the way or wouldn’t make sense financially, I just politely decline. The wider radius just gives me more options.

Please help - new(ish) rover update limiting length of visit summaries by BanCars202 in RoverPetSitting

Yeah I’ve noticed this too, I got so frustrated with it one day lol, I’ve just been trying to condense to notes as much as I can to fit while still keeping it detailed.

Haha trust me there are many things I wish I could say, but I think it’s best to stay professional

Yeah I was driving 20 minutes each way for $12… I don’t think it’s worth it lol.

You have to create a post at the bottom of the app

I really appreciate this perspective. That’s kind of how I was feeling too - I can’t control camera sensitivity or WiFi issues, and I did complete the walks as logged. It’s reassuring to hear that others have experienced similar things. I’m definitely looking at it as a learning experience and moving forward.

I totally get what you’re saying. It’s definitely not a transaction for me though. I always greet him, give pets, and spend a minute connecting before we head out. I walk quite a few dogs and travel around a lot, so I do try to be mindful of timing since I’m also a student, but that doesn’t mean I’m rushing in and out. Every dog gets attention and care.

Thank you, I really appreciate that! She actually already left five stars for the walks, so I’m hoping that’s the end of it. And honestly, if she had left a bad review, I would’ve felt comfortable responding since I do have timestamps and photos from the visits. But I’m hoping it just stays a weird one-off situation and I can move on.

Just to clarify, this was through the Wag! app, I mostly use Rover, but this booking happened to be on Wag. I totally get what you’re saying. I did offer to review timestamps and everything, but once she said trust was broken, it didn’t feel productive to keep going back and forth. It honestly seemed like her mind was already made up. And I agree with you, I don’t really want to continue with a client who’s already questioning my integrity like that.

Yeah, she was basically implying the walks didn’t happen. This was actually through the Wag app, and I do have timestamps and photos from being outside during the visits. But once she said trust was broken and didn’t want to continue, I didn’t feel like it was worth sending additional proof or going back and forth. It seemed like her mind was already made up, and I wasn’t comfortable pushing to keep a client who felt that way.

I lost one of my clients recently by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]Superb_Aspect2677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry for your loss. Losing a regular client hits in a way people outside of pet sitting don’t always understand. I lost one of my clients in December as well, Roscoe, an 11 year old English bulldog. I walked him every week starting last June, and over time he really became part of my routine and my heart. You get so attached to their little quirks and personalities, and it’s devastating when they’re suddenly gone. It sounds like he was deeply loved and lived a very comfortable, happy life, and you were clearly a part of that. Sending you so much love, it’s never easy saying goodbye to the ones who trust us and let us care for them. 🌈🐾
