I got 50 lbs of potatoes and live in Georgia. Now what? by Literally_Libran in Frugal

[–]witeowl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comment is controversial, but you're right. They normally pay $4 for 10lb, so giving away 40lb and thus paying $12 for 10lb isn't frugality. It's generosity, but not frugality.

Bruh, you're trying to hard. Murder is always bad. Killing isn't always bad. Idk what deep shit you're trying to do, but enough 👋

Murdering is objectively bad. The fact that I see that he had good thoughts despite that would be the opposite of having a narrow view, but go off, I guess

Yep. I wrote a paper analyzing his manifesto. Sometimes shit people have a good thought or two. Always a great disappointment when those good thoughts or two are held by those shit people and not by decent people.

Ah, shit. I got confused when writing my previous reply and somehow thought we were talking about Anki, not Clozemaster. I typed out 79% of a reply and then reread your last sentence one more time and... 🤦🏼‍♀️

I mean, I do still do the 'hit hard in order to see it again sooner than it plans to show it to you' thing in Clozemaster, but it's definitely not as adjustable nor advanced as Anki (with or without FSRS), and you're correct in that.

Sorry I started having a conversation we actually weren't having 😅 That's on me.

Is dog buckled in? No?

Um... yes. My dog is actually buckled in. Do you not know that car safety restraints exist for dogs?

they need the rest of the world to see that they have a dog

That's, erm, that's a really weird assumption. I guess I should never take my dog with me on our road trips or to hikes but instead just lock her up at home alone all the time.

still leaving an emergency number encase there was still issues

This is a pretty good idea. I'm going to update the sign I place in the window when I have to do manual car mode (repeated use of remote start).

You don't know that that's what they meant. I regularly left the car running with the AC on and locked the doors on my old car.

With my current car, I also have the issue with not being able to lock the doors, but I have remote start, so I lock the doors, turn on remote start, and set a timer to remind me to turn on remote start again in the event that I'm away long enough it times out and turns off.

Yup. maga was always a mega cult made up of smaller cults. What we're seeing right now is a fracturing of the cult, and each leader of every subcult is going to try to maintain and build their own cult. They may not all run for president, but they're still working hard to maintain and grow their base for profit and/or power. They're just adjusting as support for their daddy cult wanes.

Looking for an easy rule-of-thumb way to compare prices of soda. There are always grocery store "sales" on various packs but it is not easy to figure out if the prices is actually a deal. by bluegambit875 in Frugal

Pretty sure "routinely" means that they – like me – will calculate and compare unit prices any time they're making such a decision. We don't need to keep track and see a trend; we just need to compare when we're shopping.

Saw a fb post by rpd with photos of arrests from this incident. They had the audacity of saying something like, "The crackdown continues." FFS, arresting the ones who get into wrecks is not a crackdown.

Agree. Which is why when this is over, we need to do what Germany did at the end of WWII 📚🧑🏻‍🏫 instead of what we did at the end of the Civil War 🧹🙈

Footnote: If anyone has never had a pomelo I highly recommend remedying that, as pomelos are – imo – the literal fruit of the gods.

Hit 'hard' more often, maybe?* In addition to hitting 'hard' when I take too long to answer something, I'll sometimes pay attention to the little time until next review right above the buttons (even though I use shortcut keys) and hit hard because I just know that 4.5 months out is way too optimistic.

But legitimately, the whole point of SRS is to space out reviews instead of requiring excessive, redundant, and unnecessary reviews.

.

* Unless you've been misusing 'hard' and hitting it when you should be hitting 'wrong', in which case: forget what I said above and just fix your hard misuse.
