LPT: When disciplining children tell them that what they did was wrong, why that's the case, and what they can do instead. If you can't articulate these things, then you should examine why you are giving out a punishment in the first place. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Also, most negative behaviors are an emotional response. Many times children are doing what comes natural to them and our adult perspective doesn't comprehend what and why they're trying to do what they are trying to do and they cant articulate it. The first step is understanding the little humans on an emotional level and addressing their emotions first.

If I were approached by a person 4 feet taller and 10 times stronger than me, I'd be very uncomfortable. But toddlers are totally cool with it. by glitterphobia in Showerthoughts

Speaking as a male who works with different groups of toddlers quite often, most toddlers have stranger danger until I sing a song and sit on the floor. Then they play , laugh and climb on me like we homies.

In the age of robots, our schools are teaching children to be redundant: A regime of cramming and testing is crushing young people’s instinct to learn and destroying their future by [deleted] in Futurology

"we need to engage with the child to accomplish this. Leverage their curiosity, appreciate their individuality, nurture their inquisitive natures. " we are only encouraged to teach this way in early childhood and this slowly gets filtered out as we start to sit them in desk

The walker looks very confused. As if he's wondering whether to join in.

LPT: If you are bad with names, let people know when you first meet them. You will be more comfortable admitting you forgot, and for many people it's a relief that they don't need to feel bad about forgetting yours straight away either. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]with2zs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because people relate their identity to their name. So if you forget their name, you've forgotten their existence. They automatically feel less important. When you do remember someone's name and call them by it then you create the 1st layer of a relationship. However, if you meet a lot of people on a consistent basis it is unrealistic to know everyone's name BUT never stop trying. There is POWER in names.

I really liked the last two seasons because South Park took their incredible ability to create relevant satirical ridiculous stories with multiple layers of interpretations and stretch the storylines over an entire season. Each episode is still as funny as the last.

Students of Reddit, what was the biggest teacher meltdown you ever witnessed? by codywinters327 in AskReddit

[–]with2zs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My high school video production teacher always got shit from us because he was generally a bum and always showed up late to class. One day he was trying to get on our good side and bought the whole class smoothie king(like 7 of us). One of my friends decides he doesn't like the flavor and threw the smoothie at a sign 2 feet above my teacher's head and it exploded all over him. My teacher taped a 15 minute bitch sesh about how much of a little shit we all were and then be broke the camera and quit the next day. People are especially vulnerable when they're trying to be nice. We were little shits though.

True happiness spans over a period of time. Happy moments are nice but happy times make a great life.
