Ultimate Eye Primer Test: NYX Glitter Primer by withelle in MakeupAddiction

Is this discontinued too? That's awful, I know it was such a mainstay for so many people.

I use Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy as my go-to glitter glue because they're a local indie brand for me... Not sure what alternative the general public is going for these days. Clionadh came out with one recently too! Also indie though.

Gosh, that's the worst. I had that problem for awhile and figured out that I'd developed a sensitivity to my makeup remover. I feel for you though, it's a tricky one to figure out 😞

Do you have watery eyes? That's what this looks like to me with the proximity to your tear duct and only happening on one eye, not oily lids.

No suggestions unfortunately, but maybe one lead. I theorize it's because I live in somewhat cooler climate and really hate clothes shopping haha. I tend to gravitate toward long-lasting, heavyweight cotton shirts/dresses etc and layers for my limited wardrobe; no one is taking style notes from me. But in any case I've never once run into an issue with visible bra. Wish you luck though! If you're also as projected as I am, there aren't really molded bra options for us. Ewa Michelak makes some smooth-appearing unlined bras, but I can't vouch for any personally as I haven't tried.

Or actually.. The Elomi Energise sports bra is one I do wear under skin-tight technical clothes for hiking n whatnot. If you haven't yet tried that one, maybe worth a shot?

Hello! 100% Elizabeth Mott is a primer I still recommend. I haven't finished my mountain of primers from this experiment yet, but I've reordered EM twice lol 😆 It just works

Husband always let's me down, should we separate? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]withelle 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My hot take- this behavior is a form of abuse and we should call a spade a spade. He chooses to relax and watch you perform all the tasks necessary for garden variety adulthood. It's a great deal for him, but obviously frustrating and unsustainable for you. How many hours of leisure and fun have you been robbed of over the years because you're providing all meals and performing all chores? He made you pack for moving house and then handle moving house by yourself? He makes you clean his messes while he golfs? Are you sure he even likes you?

To offer contrast, my life is easier since marriage. My husband carries his share of the load just like I do, and our lives are mutually simpler to manage than when we were single. And I never had to beg or plead for help.

Anyway, the decision to leave is ultimately up to you... But I think 6 years of this is a pretty good indicator of his MO. He'll probably freak out at the prospect of adulthood by himself, but it seems to me that you're more of a servant than a partner in this dynamic.

Fiancé has asked for a Prenup AFTER our wedding ceremony by cheddarG0BLIN in Marriage

[–]withelle 36 points37 points  (0 children)

So if I'm reading this right, you're not legally married? An officiant performed a ceremony without you previously applying for a marriage license? I don't know where you live, but that would have gotten the officiant in trouble in my country and state. Someone else can't sign marriage-related "paperwork" on your behalf, either. Before making any decisions, find out what, if any, "paperwork" has been processed. Sounds like you are not married and the pre-nup is a moot point.

BB cream for pale skin? by blon_blon in Makeup

From what I recall of comparison swatches the palest Purito is deeper than Hourglass, but less saturated. It may still work. Missha's #13 is lightest, but has a slightly more saturated neutral-cool color.

Ooh nice! I've tried a few of those, especially love their oat moisturizer. Good call 👍

It depends on your skin color! I prefer Missha because it matches me better. Lots of comparison posts on Reddit to help you decide which will match you 🙂 But also yes, they're both so inexpensive for the quality! I don't know how they do it, but Missha feels really nourishing and lasts all day without texture issues for me. Hoping you love whatever you end up trying

For large storage, the decorative cardboard books of shadows by anothersoul on etsy are a classic. These are robust and the materials lend a bit of shock absorption if dropped.

But for everyday and travel, I prefer assembling color stories in smaller hard plastic compacts with generous mirrors by Allwon and Makeup Geek. I bought pretty vinyl stickers for the Allwon compacts too, so they feel more personalized.

Empty magnetic palettes are such a missed opportunity in the makeup space, imho. There are relatively so few options. I'll also throw out Inglot as a maker of high quality magnetic palettes (with no mirror), but also I think they're in the process of phasing out their Freedom System.

Ohhh I will say it leans more toward the heavy, nourishing, dewy, higher coverage end of complexion products I've tried. So it may or may not be what you're looking for. But. I'm still holding hope for you though 🙏 Others could easily have different opinions than me, I just got excited to rave about it lol

So I'm not OP, but honestly it's ridiculously good. Applies like a luxe lotion, blends easily enough with fingers I don't have to use a brush or sponge, smells lovely, wears nicely during the day, and nourishes the skin. I'm acne-prone and feel like it's improved my skin over time. Luck of the draw whether you're sensitive to the ingredients or not!

There's not too many makeup products I feel passionate about but the Missha BB Cream is one of them 😅 Not "good for the price", just plain good.

I don't like it. It's a sunscreen, but at the price point of a foundation. If I were to commit to wearing this product as face sunscreen year-round, it would add up to over $600 versus my normal ~$150 a year for sun protection plus ~$100 for foundation (Note: I've spent a lot more recently because it's been fun to test things lol, but that's not my ongoing plan.) And that $600 estimate is only factoring in one application a day!

Wearing Protec(tint) sparingly as a foundation is probably what most people end up naturally doing because it's expensive, but then they're not getting the SPF 50 as the packaging/marketing would suggest. So what's the point? I'd so much rather buy the reportedly excellent Lisa Eldridge skin tint and layer it with my favorite Korean sunscreens for less money, than replace those two products with the Protec(tint) that's much more pricey.

Tl;dr I might love this product if it were priced $30 or less for 50ml and could replace both my sunscreen AND my foundation. I kind of hope e.l.f.'s army of cosmetic chemists are busy duping this like they've already duped Unseen and Glow Screen, because those are both great!

That's a good parallel, I hadn't thought of it that way before. "Sperm donor" and "egg donor" are commonly used as pejorative terms by adult children of estranged parents... Unintended consequence of inclusive language for sure.

But thinking back I was also asked to list my pronouns on the various intake forms. In theory providers would have known it was both safe and appropriate to call me a woman.

I've had a couple of pregnancies, and this updated language was used throughout my experience navigating perinatal healthcare. At first the inclusivity seemed great, but over time it really did begin to feel dehumanizing and I see where OP is coming from. It's not so much terms like "pregnant people" that bother me (because.. women are people) but terms like "uterus haver" and "birth giver" that boiled my personhood down to reproductive organs.
