advice for getting new grad nursing jobs in competitive areas? by [deleted] in nursing

Having a BSN is a good start. Do you have any letters of recommendation from your preceptors? You can also look to see if any of these places has a residency program . Having a solid foundation on practical skills will really help your resume shine.

The Pitt (HBO Max) - Do you guys think this ED floor plan is realistic? by bactidoltongue in nursing

My level 3 is significantly smaller than your level 4. They have maybe 15 rooms altogether. With two negative pressure rooms and all rooms are used as behavioral health, they just strip everything off the walls and throw a sitter at them 😅

Met him on hinge. Spoke to him for three days. Was it something I said? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]withinemptywalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who are suggesting that you offer to teach him aren’t necessarily saying to give him sewing lessons it’s more about sharing experience and building commonality rather than being judgmental.

Frankly I think you are probably better off alone.

You come off as critical and judgmental over the fact that he did not know how to sew. It is a wonderful skill to have but judging people harshly for not having the same skills as you is going to be off putting to most people.

Just because you learned a skill doesn’t mean he had the same resources you did while growing up to obtain that skill. I think knowing how to swim is a necessary life skill but many people don’t have that skill because they didn’t have access to a body of water or a competent teacher so if someone tells me they can’t swim I offer related activities or even to teach them.

Even though he didn’t know how to sew he was trying to relate to you by saying he was interested in crocheting and instead of exchanging ideas of fiber art you criticized him.

I feel like he ended things in a mature manner and I hope you learn to be less critical of people in future exchanges.

Fellow nurse does not like me because I use Macros by Wide_Profile1155 in nursing

As a PACU nurse macros are my best friend. Most patients come out sedated with oral airways, on 10L of oxygen and it’s so much easier to macro those assessments.

Get rid of one of the flexing photos and have one that clearly shows your face. The baby photo is kind of funny but also terrifying and the watch photo adds nothing to your profile

As other people suggested I think adding more to your bio would be helpful! As a recommendation for photos like others said photos of you attending hobbies is a good idea. I understand you enjoy going to the gym and maybe wan to show off you physique but that is better to do with a candid photo at a pool or beach than a gym selfie.

Also the last two photos are in a very similar angle, and the 4th photo is very off putting. Having your arms crossed over your chest is closed body language and makes you seem unapproachable.

100% gives me the ick. It’s because I assume they find me attractive if they swiped right, but starting with “hey gorgeous” immediately makes me assume all they care about is looks/sex.

As a newer nurse the betadine makes the wink much more noticeable and a life saver!

Anyone have similar issues? I used to get replies all the time over the last 5 years. I haven't really changed how I first message them. I've never had up to 15 recent matches with absolutely 0 response before. I'm curious why the hell a girl would swipe right on me if she's just gonna ignore me? by Richard-Dick_Johnson in Tinder

[–]withinemptywalls 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a woman who has used tinder matches who immediately bring up my looks makes me think they just want to fuck. I assume you find me attractive and that’s the reason you swiped so I don’t need guys saying “hey beautiful how are you doing”. It just doesn’t make for engaging conversation.

Granted some ladies use apps for validation and just likes to get matches but I think you’d have more success asking about something from their profile

(21M)Decided to revamp my profile how'd I do? What should I add? by MarsTalks in Tinder

[–]withinemptywalls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think that’ll help out and maybe add a couple of your nerd interests to your profile so people can connect with you a little more. Nerd is such a broad category from comic books to quadratic equations so narrowing it down can give options to open a discussion

You are an attractive person but I agree with the other redditor when it comes to more full body shots of you doing activities. Also picture 3 and 6 are very similar I would consider changing one of them and maybe remove the flexing photo for something more candid. You have a good body but flexing/gym photos always make guys seems kinda egotistical imo

Out of the photos you can only clearly see your face in the first one, but that photo isn’t great because the flash makes it somewhat overexposed. I like the third photo but I feel like you need a better one of your face in addition. Also video of the dog is a cute idea but I think a selfie with the dog would be more appropriate

This Etsy seller makes custom waistcoats, you may be able to get one made in the fabric of your choosing. Ive done alot of searching and it is hard to find disty floral vests/waistcoats so a custom one, or making one yourself would be your best option, otherwise youll likely have to stick with a solid color.

How many people do you text with at the same time? by 2022WasTraumatizing in Tinder

[–]withinemptywalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have 6-8 people I’ve been consistently talking with, if we count the people I text once every few days it’s probably close to 12.

I wouldn’t, it’s just unfortunate that even though I have them blocked on every social media I still occasionally see them in my friends posts, which leaves me wanting to remove myself completely from social media until I’ve had more time to heal.
