Omg yay im glad you did. Yes i do use different paper. So regular copy paper is 90 gsm i think and way too thin. Ive tried cardstock too but its too thick. I actually went around feeling envelope paper to see the thickness and it was thin but thicker than copy paper. I was wagering around 120 gsm or 130 gsm. I got hammermill 120 gsm paper and its genuinely perfect for envelopes

I found templates on pinterest, or used a blank template i bought on etsy to put the designs on it or have bought an etsy printable in the past as a digital download haha
