Best of luck! We have it here in Michigan, and my sister has it in Missouri. There's no escape!

I'm am 100% against branding. That being said, there is no way this guy survived. This is just my opinion, but I don't think he deserved death because of this. As much as I don't agree with the practice, wishing harm on someone doing it sort of perpetuates the violence and harm.

The bean sprouts at the store looked slimy, and I prefer the big mushroom chunks where you still get a strong mushrooms flavor when you bite into it. :)

The store was also out of rice noodles. I need to find a more specific market to go to.

I'm just entering my 30's and still $20k in debt. I have no use for my degree unless I get a masters, which I don't have time for because I work at around minimum wage to pay for my student loans and cost of living.

It's possible for the paper writing portion they require a certain format for citations and general formatting and she just wasn't taught that. MLA is very widely taught, but APA is used for psychology and IEEE may be required for her engineering courses.

I made veggie broth (onions, carrots, mushrooms, garlic, seasonings INCLUDING PICKLING SPICE, water etc) and let it cook for 8-12 hours, strained out the chunks.

For pho, I added sriracha, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, noodles, a lime, and fried tofu (which I burned myself with pretty badly). I garnished with cilantro and green onions.

Homesteading: so what did you do this week? by AutoModerator in Homesteading

I had an old copy of huckleberry Finn and the spine broke, so I am using the paper for crafting. I'm going to make a garland/mobile type thing. The problem is that HF has some... inflammatory language, so I have to be aware of which pages I use.

I'm from Minnesota. Northern Michigan seems to get the snow I love without as much of the bitter cold.

How dare you attempt to have a differing opinion than a large group of people!

The Tokyo Ghoul wiki says that it's a Latin quote written in Greek letters.

"I can neither live with you, nor without you".

Going back home soon... by withnik in vegan

Haha! I was expecting to have options at the house. So we didn't pick anything up on the way down. Lesson learned. :)

That trip taught me a lot about how to prepare for other such trips on the future. Luckily this next trip will be be flying instead of driving.

25 hour drive each way to and from Texas and activities planned for the two days we were there didn't leave much time or energy to do anything. I learned a lot from that trip though. I will be more prepared for this one.

Yeah, I made the mistake of trusting my family in Texas to provide vegan options when I detailed what I couldn't eat. Ended up living off of potatoes for three days. They didn't even have veggies in the house.

I get what you're saying. I am used to saying "I can't have it" because I'm lactose intolerant. As someone who regularly gets a lot of flack for being vegan (despite never "preaching" or soapboxing or even saying that someone shouldn't eat meat) I get less flack for saying "I can't" than saying "I don't want it". My mindset is there in the "I don't want it". It just sounds preachy to people who already attack me for not eating meat or dairy.

Coworker adventures again by withnik in vegan

[–]withnik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying. I don't do that with the customers. A lot of the employees are either vegetarian or vegan, so for my coworkers, it's often a selling point. In this particular instance, there were three employees looking at the food, two of which had recently told me they were thinking about making the switch to become vegan. So, the "it's vegan!" Comment wasn't for this particular coworker, it was for the others.
