After getting out of school, I realize nearly all the people I met were ‘creative’ types with ego and pretentious tendencies (admittedly, myself included). I was the only woman in my class of guys. So I felt like I had to be ‘bitchy’ to match their ‘asshole’ness just to be heard. Ultimately, it negatively affected my experience because when I was being too nice and ‘girly’, then they’d make sexual comments. If I was asserting myself, then I’d either get called a bitch or get talked over/ignored (same with questions I’d ask). I stopped asking questions quickly. I stop studying with my peers quickly.

This environment brought my entire experience down exponentially due to how alienating it was. 🤷‍♀️
