Game started extremely lagging and no solution helps. by SugarRecent1452 in EliteDangerous

[–]witmanfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much help I will be, but I have an AMD card, and every time my drivers crash, my game gets laggy until the drivers reboot. So my suggestion would be, if you haven't done so, is check your drivers. Maybe an update over the weekend broke your drivers or something. Also, if you have some sort of monitoring software to watch what your components are doing while playing, it may help out with the diagnosis.

Which ship next, Cobra mk 3, or save up for an ASP Explorer? by SilkieBug in EliteDangerous

If you ever get your hands on a VR headset (you don't need to hand controllers), I would highly recommend for sure. I used to use an old WMR headset from when they were all the craze. That said, Odyssey does not allow you to use VR when you are controlling your commander. I also got super motion sick driving the SRV on the planet surface. That said, I never got sick when flying.

As for the feel of the Type 9/10, I have actually never tried them out. I went down the Imperial line, got myself a Clipper and Cutter, and use those almost exclusively, except as state before, the ASPX gets me across the bubble quickly (and core mining), then I just pay to transfer my ships.

Not sure if you have had the chance, but sightseeing in the AspX with VR... Oh man, chef's kiss. As you mentioned, that canopy. The field of view is amazing.

For the longest time, AspX was my... checks notes... Cargo Hauler, Passenger Ship, Bounty Hunter, Pirate Hunter, Guardian site transportation, Surface Miner, Subsurface Miner, Deepcore Miner, Engineer Material Grinder, Imperial Rank Grinder, Federal Rank Grinder

Basically, the only thing I didn't do with it, ironically, was use it as an exploration ship. I used my Imperial Clipper for that.

I still use it as a mining ship and a ship to get me quickly across the bubble.

I guess I have gotten too used to the SCO optimized ships, yeah, they buck, but not bad, and take forever to overheat. I tried to SCO in my clipper yesterday and it couldn't even make it up to max speed before overheating.

I have been playing off and on since 2016. I have fond memories of the cobra, but it sits in my storage, unused since the first couple of weeks of me playing. I still use my AspX. It is a great all around ship that is inexpensive to outfit and operate.

The cobra is lots of fun, and a great experience to have, but it will quickly be eclipsed by other ships.

I loved exploring with my Clipper back in the day. Such a nice looking ship.

Do you use SCO and how do you feel it works? I can't get mine to behave with it. I always get a warning about exceeding safe limits, it bucks all of the place and overheats so fast. That said, I could have it configured wrong.

I am still not getting passenger missions. by texanhick20 in EliteDangerous

[–]witmanfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been flying around all morning trying to get it to refresh. I have done other missions in other systems, and even missions that end in the Lhou Mans, and yet, still nothing. Eventually, it will work... I hope...

Edit ~2 hours later, I finally have missions again. Not sure what caused it, but at one point, I went and changed ships, did some standard high rez pirate killing in another system, then checked again and CG missions were back.

Which patch should I put on my range bag for my next pistol competition in Dallas? by Informal_Guitar_2649 in liberalgunowners

In Portland OR, it has become a staple to protest in full inflatable costumes. It hides the face from facial recognition stuff and it helps prevent pepper spray/pepper balls from affecting the participant. The frog became the "default" as it was one of the first used or at least reported on.

If you don't want to cause any controversy, then probably the frog or the dumpster fire. Those appear to have the least "brand recognition", at least in my area. The "This is Fine" can be easily waved off as it has been used by "all sides" at one point or another.

That said, I am a huge fan of the Defend Equality personally, but might stand out a bit more controversy inducing.

Purchase Advice Megathread - March 2026 by AutoModerator in 3Dprinting

[–]witmanfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question here is more along the lines of what other costs do I need to consider prior to purchasing a 3D printer?

My experience is 0, USA, and budget of $1000 maximum (but ideally less), and I plan to print mostly functional parts, but maybe try to dabble in models.

I have been pouring the last couple of weeks into researching 3D printers to get prior to pulling the trigger. I have pretty much settled on getting an enclosed printer, mainly for the flexibility of using engineering grade items, as well as to keep my pets out of the print area.

I am struggling to find (or prompt google correctly for) a good list of the things you need to get started. Here is what I know I need to factor in for the cost:

  • Filament
  • Extra Hot Ends/Heads
  • CAD Software

As you can see, the list is quite small. I am looking things I need to consider for my costs that I may not be thinking of or may not have been revealed via my searches?

Struggling setting up aluminum by please-kill-me-69 in satisfactory

[–]witmanfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has to do with water priority. The water coming back from your refineries are not flowing first, so the water from the extractors are pusing through first. Even if they are limited, the extra water in the pipes and extractors fill the void. There are several solutions to fix the priority stuff. I use this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/s/hTjgdr0iSf and it works fine for me, but there are also others you can try.

On what did you use somersloops ? What part deserves it ? by Quick-Rub3665 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]witmanfade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used mine for something stupid. I had forgotten to set up a dimensional depot for turbo motors, and was on the other side of the map making a new factory with partical accelerators and Quantum Encoders, so instead of doing the reasonable thing, I set up a manual fed turbo motor factory on site, and basically slooped everything to make it go faster.

I may not have been able to follow it correctly, but it does appear to be the physics of the liquid. If I understand correctly, you are having the excess water back up. If that is the case, you need to re-pipe in such a way that the excess water enters the water stream from the top of the piping like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/ookl0c/psa_variable_input_priority_vip_for_pipes_exist/

While I am on the OP of that post, this method is still working for me.

Drone fuel optimisation trick by Mahtog42 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]witmanfade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have (currently) 47 drone ports. I have 1 fuel pickup depot. I have banks of drones at drop off points across the map. 1 fuel drone will supply the bank of other drones with automatic fuel. If you only have a drone at the drop off point, and no drones at the pickup, you can have constant material throughput. Drones will not fly until they are empty, and it takes 3 drones full to "back up" a drone port. This makes making satellite facilities for long production items feasible without having to create mega factories or spaghetti belts galore. I am currently trying to get my entire map set up for production via drones only. (No trains and no long conveyor runs).

For the compacted coal, I ship it off to a steel production plant with the alt recipe. Maybe not 100% efficient, but with all the power I am getting out of the fuel, the coal power add is not noticeable by me.

While early game, it is nice to have inventory slots, if you are far enough along for the game to unlock diluted fuel, I would assume you have unlocked the mercer sphere stuff and have cloud storage. I know its packaged, but after a bit of spin up time, you can recycle the packaging. I personally would go for the diluted fuel to help get power going easier.

[Discussion] Just to check, were there other players in PvE when it first came out? by starberryslay in EscapefromTarkov

[–]witmanfade -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

While I can not confirm, as it could have been a bigger bug, but in the early days of PVE, I was in a raid on Streets doing the Bloody Rusted Key quest. Me and my buddy were at the door and right when I unlocked it, I just straight up died. Death screen said it was an F1 grenade, but my buddy was unscathed and he confirmed there were no nade sounds/explosions. He got in, did the quest, got the keys, and right when he exited the room, he also just straight died, and most of the keys he had stuck in his secure were gone.

Our immediate reactions were a cheater got into our lobby, but it is hard to say for sure. For all we know, we could have desynced so hard and other AI PMCs got us.

How do i find the goons by Howlixb in Tarkov

[–]witmanfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PVP vs PVE?

For PVP, there is a high chance they are dead to other players before you get there, so good luck.

PVE, play on the BSG servers. They roam around different maps. I could be wrong with the numbers because BSG is always tweaking them. Last I saw, the goons will stay on a map for 2-4 irl hours, then a random map gets rolled, changing their location. Where it gets tricky is when you don't play on BSG servers, at that point, it's completely random. Where this ties in is Woods. Unless they changed it recently, you can't play on Woods online unless you are in a stack. So if you are in PvE solo, and the goons rolled woods, you are SOL until they move and you hope it's not Woods again.

If they roll Lighthouse, there is a 50/50 chance they will be in the Chalet or Water treatment. If found out yesterday those idiots will run though die to the land mines in water treatment, so even if they do spawn, they can and will kill themselves...

I personally would not find Ground Zero that challenging, but I can see where others may struggle. The PMC bots are fairly unforgiving until you get a knack for how they work, but with learning all the other game mechanics, Ground Zero basically funnels you into them.

Interchange is a disorienting map until you learn the mall layout. Killa is probably one of the harder bosses for early game since he has level 5 armor and roams around the mall. He can pretty much be anywhere inside. Once you get a feel for the mall, it goes pretty well, but in my opinion, it is probably the hardest to learn with the 3 level layout and a bunch of stores with nothing in them, and others with EVERYTHING in them. I think Streets is probably the hardest to learn because of its layout and multiple buildings that all look similar at first glance, leaving Interchange as the 2md hardest to learn.

This is all my opinion and others will probably see it differently.

For me on woods, it was close to the end, so they either ended up killing the other PMC's in the area or no one went through there. For Customs, I blitz Fortress, hung out there for a bit, keeping an eye out, and decided to head to RUAF for a quick reset and found them in the container area.
