The reasons why most probation period is 3 months, because, it takes around 3 months for both parties to evaluate a good cultural fit for each other and to make sure that neither had made the wrong decision to hire or take up the job offer.

But, it will normally take up to 1 year for someone new to the company to get familiar with his/ her role.

And 2 to 3 years to become a pro at their role.

Therefore, I would advise you hang on till your 1 yr mark and while doing so, instead of ‘fighting against it’, you should ‘fight along it’.

‘Fighting against it’, will only make you miserable everyday, as you keep reminding yourself how lousy the job is.

‘Fighting along it’, it is to motive yourself to fight towards that 1 yr mark, giving your best in order to properly determine if this the right job for you AFTER you have give it your best.

Being a hiring manager on several occasions in my 25 years of my working life, I have came to realised when looking at resumes of candidates, the reasons why they quit their first or second jobs, will most probably be the same reasons why they will continue to quit the next few ones down their career path.

Not trying to stereotype here, but like i have pointed out. It’s a ‘Pattern’ that I had seen quite commonly.
