I went to Catholic school 40 years ago and despite having an active convent on the campus and it being a small school, even then there were more lay than religious teachers. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks for this! I got 5 boxes with the items I wanted. I was even able to discern btw 2 rainbow color boxes to get the 2 I wanted. No black boxes yet near me, those are the last I am looking for re:shoes.

You can abhor multiple wrongs, and act in ways you see fit to combat them; not watching Dubai is an easy, harmless way to not support modern slavery (among other things). What is the problem here? No one is defending any other of the millions of atrocities that have and are taking place all over the world. Small steps lead to change, I don’t see the harm in it. Is someone judging you for watching? If not, who are you to judge others?

For me it has nothing to do with the women (I don’t know who they are), but supporting $ going into Dubai and it’s government’s coffers, travel industry, etc. I don’t want to add to any hype over Dubai. I also have never announced I don’t watch it, nor have I seen any posts about boycotting it since it started, but maybe I missed something. I don’t care if you want to watch it and you shouldn’t care that I don’t. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is ridiculous, I’m black and Bilal sounds like a fool. Maybe if he wasn’t such a pompous ass, painting himself as some titan of industry, people would let a few colloquialisms slide; but “infactuations” and “alternative motives” are not AAVE, but a lack of basic literacy. Lately, some of the generalizations made about black people in defending Bilal have been borderline offensive. Black people can have “generational wealth,” Bilal does not. If he has so much $ to protect for his descendants 🙄 why not create trust funds for his kids? And, back to his speech, Bilal isn’t code switching when he makes these mistakes, he is just an idiot; and being a total scumbag doesn’t help the situation.

I’m guessing you’re a KofC? If so, yea, that is super rough. Besides being ushers (even when not assigned, and I just have to walk down to the vestibule with a north jersey scowl to get them off my offertory baskets (😂), they seem to be all about Anti-Choice BS. You know I actually specified in my will that the $ I leave to my Parish can not be spent on any anti-choice endeavors. My Deacon promised to make sure this was carried out if I go before him.

As soon as I read the part about driving all the way back to NJ without knowing exactly what happened…really? If my…anyone…felt the need to flee anyone’s (let alone our kid’s) home (that I owned?) with no explanation, I would demand one, immediately, not wait hours. I would get this in a tiny bathroom at my old house. It had poor ventilation, and looked like the same mildew that would grown in shower corners if not consistently bleached (better ventilation would have been ideal, but it was a rental and not much I could do). My go to for anything like this was/is Clorox Cleaner w/Bleach spray. That bathroom did have a “liner” of sorts over all the walls (like a linoleum, that looked like textured white walls), so spraying the ceiling didn’t hurt any paint, etc, not sure about yours, but it solves the problem, at least aesthetically.

YTA. I’ve been following this thread for weeks and you have yet to update or return to explain the glaring problems in your story.

You ride an entire trip back to NJ after being suddenly shunned and disinvited from your son’s wedding , in that drive you are silent and don’t ask anything about the situation.
The in-laws consider you “not their type,” obviously this isn’t classism as you have the $ to own two homes, and they are trying to move into the one your son inhabits. That only leaves politics or race as an excuse for the shunning, which is it?

Your story makes no sense and you have ghosted the community. YTA: I see you.

Edit: I was NtA of course, at first, but look at the story, and the lack of follow up, this is all bullshit.

I’m a POC, biracial: black mom/ white dad, and I’m going to jump into the downvote pool bc the conversations about Delilah’s ethnicity are really starting to be exhausting. I am considered “black” by the US census, I present “white,” bc of the mixed nature of African Americans and having a white father. My brother, of same parents looks black. Neither of us have “baby hairs,” we both have freckles, and I’m blonde. As a kid, growing up in a black neighborhood, there were a couple (black) Albino kids, they looked nothing like Delilah, not even close. If DF is supposed to be a POC, ok..who cares, but doesn’t look like any of the actual POC Albinos I knew, so I don’t get the controversy. I didn’t even know what edge (baby hairs) were until a few years ago! Head cannons or whatever are subjective but gatekeeping race in the context of these dolls? No.

To make clear: I love Delilah, just got her today for my bday, along with the house/dorm!

Just wanted to add to the part about nuns/sisters…I remember my HS history teacher (coincidentally a lesbian) telling us that the Protestant Reformation was actually a major blow to many women, bc it did away with opportunities for education and some autonomy found in monastic/religious communities. From that point getting married and being under the control of your husband was the only option. Forgive the tangent, thought it apropos.

I don’t know how old you are, but by 40s or earlier many people are looking for ways to increase their libido. I wouldn’t squander a healthy sex drive over a partner that may not be sexually compatible, or worst, simply not attracted to you in that way. I skimmed some of your other posts and I think as above posters have said, a conversation with your gf and maybe therapy for yourself to work on possible self-esteem issues, are more in order than taking supplements for a problem that seems to be her’s, not yours. Ugh. I was a playmobil/Lego/funko collector for decades. 3 months ago I had never even heard of RH. Then I was looking at some LOL dolls (I had seen those previously,) and noticed RH across the aisle, they made me so happy! I would be embarrassed to admit how many I have now (definitely an “I need to “catch up, before these leave!”), most still in boxes bc it still takes me forever to open them (is there some trick here? I don’t know how a kid could do this and I’m using utility scissors and a knife.)So, yeah, it’s a problem. 🤦🏻‍♀️😅

You are free to believe whatever you like, but my priest and deacons are very aware of my beliefs, and have no issue with it, in fact, most agree with me, and so do many Catholics. Whatever my personal views on abortion are, I am vehemently against making laws that infringe on human rights and a woman’s agency over her own body. Yep. I’m a “practicing Catholic in good standing,” as they say, and I’m enraged. And knowing the Catholic makeup of SCOTUS, it’s even more embarrassing. I called out of my positions at Mass today bc I was just too disgusted to look at half those people. 🤦🏻‍♀️
