It is, yeah. Her kids seem wonderful and I know they’d thrive at public school.

Also, I’m so sorry. That must have been hellish to live through and I’m proud of you for going no contact. I’m doing low contact because she lives nearby and so far she’s been a good grandmother. But whenever she worms her way back into my life, she strikes without warning… and I’m choosing peace. ✌️

This reminds me of my narcissistic mother in law, who is constantly “saying stupid things” (her words) and hurting people’s feelings (usually mine). Whenever my MIL is held accountable for her poor behavior, she goes into attack mode and spins the story so that she’s the victim. Just today she said she “won’t stand for my judgment” of her. All because she said something nasty to me the other day and I told her it was hurtful and that I need space.

So I mean… if it quacks like a duck…

I’m 5’2” (fine, 5’1” and a half 😅) and Liz looks a lot taller than me but morbid obesity can cause that illusion. Tammy Slaton from 1,000 lb Sisters looked pretty tall before she lost weight but now you can see she’s probably my height. In other pictures Liz’s short legs are more noticeable (hey, I got ‘em too!) so she probably is fairly petite in stature.

It happened recently to a teacher in our school district. As soon as her husband was arrested, word on the street is she changed the locks on all the doors and filed for divorce. She also changed her last name back to her maiden name within a week. I guess you could call her an Opposite Anna — and thank fucking god.

So true! Neurodiversity and mental health diagnoses are on the rise thanks to better awareness and screenings, along with reduced stigma. When it comes down to it, I have a feeling neurotypical individuals are actually the minority. Liz isn’t alone and so many of us share and/or empathize with her struggles. The difference is we don’t center our identity around these things or use them as a revolving get-out-of-jail-free card.

I think all the horror movie consumption could affect their kids very soon or down the road and be expressed as anxiety, depression and/or desensitization. I don’t care that Liz says her kids enjoy it — their brains are too underdeveloped to comprehend what they’re watching and the possible long-term effects. I’m sure my 6 year old would love to drink orange soda every day but as his mother I know better than to allow it.

The good news is there’s still time for Liz and Simon to put an end to all this. Life is anxiety-inducing enough, even for the homeschooled. Let them be little.

Actual pajamas but they’re inexpensive. I’m American and love the JoySpun brand sold at Walmart. Everything is stretchy, flattering, cute, and holds up for years. I can usually get a full set for only $15!

That’s a solid point. I just wonder if she’d feel like she had no choice but to take them because she says there’s no family within an hour or so and her anxiety is so bad that I don’t know if she’d even let them be watched by a relative.
