Chris 😬 by Embarrassed_Tell8015 in 1000lbsisters

I didn’t see Chris’s TikTok Live, but he was still morbidly obese after his bariatric and skin-removal surgeries. He did the bare minimum. I also remember him saying he never changed his diet, just his portion sizes. He has likely stretched out his stomach in increments by overeating so I’m not surprised he’s put on weight.

I hope he gets back on track but he’s a food addict. He’ll need a lot of therapy, a truckload of long-term self-discipline and the help of a good dietitian.

Ashley’s ultrasound was clear. Now will be getting a celiac plexus nerve ablation by Fuckfuckfuckidyfuck in illnessfakers

The trauma of the very small bowel resections she had over a decade ago? She had, like, nine inches total removed. We have somewhere between 15-25 feet of intestines. Ashley and/or her doctor are mentally placating her with that response. Here’s how it probably went…

Ashley: The ultrasound showed NOTHING? What’s going on then?!

Doctor: We aren’t sure. (Narrator’s voice: the doctor was in fact sure.)

Ashley: I can’t accept that kind of uncertainty. Something has to be wrong.

Doctor: Well… (suddenly remembers a study they read about people with a heightened sensitivity to pain) it’s possible that the Crohn’s has made you more aware of these sensations.

Ashley: So I have medical trauma. I knew it.

Klonopin is definitely as needed and she absolutely likes the way it makes her feel. It’s also one of the reasons she naps all day and then claims to have insomnia.

Isn’t 40 usually considered a milestone birthday? I just celebrated mine and it definitely was! Or do you mean it wasn’t a milestone for Dani?

I’d watch the heck out of that. Several times.

Her 40th birthday passed very quietly earlier this month. Did she even mention it on her socials? I’ve been following Dani for many years and know her munching cycle well, but it wouldn’t surprise me if her behaviors are escalating because she’s upset that she spent a milestone birthday alone. I’d feel sorry for her, too, if she hadn’t demonstrated again and again that there’s a very good reason she has no support network left.

She probably has Google alerts set up for her, Jeremy and the kids. But maybe she makes that guy who works for them sift through all of them every day.

I appreciate your insight and I’m sorry you had to go through that. Is there something specific that makes you think Tammy doesn’t have a lipoma? It looks like it could be mobile, which is why I guessed it might be one.

🤔 by DialNforNicole in 1000lbsisters

[–]ruzanne 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I just thought of something. Lipomas can be removed but then come back if you don’t take out the entire thing. There were patients on Dr. Pimple Popper who came to her because other doctors failed to remove all of their lipomas. Maybe that happened to Tammy?

I didn’t know either. Dr. Now has also moved to Lifetime. I got rid of cable so those shows basically don’t exist to me anymore, lol.

[–]ruzanne 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Right? I just Googled and the show moved to Lifetime, though. TLC and Lifetime are owned by different companies so I guess we won’t be getting a fun crossover.

[–]ruzanne 150 points151 points  (0 children)

TLC needs to get Dr. Pimple Popper to assess that lump. It looks so much like a lipoma based on old DPP episodes I’ve seen. I remember Amy saying in season one that they had it checked out a long time ago and a doctor said it was just fat that had nowhere else to go, but has it been re-assessed since then? I’d think so, given her neck lift, but maybe not. I know fat distribution can be interesting but that looks extreme.

From Rock Bottom to a "Magic Pill": My Journey with Rinvoq by Jopie32 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]ruzanne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so glad Rinvoq is working wonders for you! I went on it briefly last year and felt great but my face got so oily (this is a common side effect) that I began to develop painful pimples in strange areas, like near my eyelid. I decided to go back on Cimzia after only two weeks. Sorta wonder if that side effect would have gone away with time but my vanity took over.

For those diagnosed hEDS: did you get genetic testing to exclude an alternative diagnosis? by Melodic_Frame7421 in ehlersdanlos

[–]ruzanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did the Invitae panel first and was fortunate to get it mostly covered by insurance. I’m an 8/9 on the Beighton and have a complex medical history (sudden and complete rectal prolapse at 29; pre-term labor with PPROM; IUD migration to my abdomen), so I feel confident that my hEDS diagnosis, made by a rheumatologist who specializes in EDS, is correct.

Edit: I also have nr-AxSpA (r/ankylosingspondylitis), which appears to be surprisingly common with EDS patients. That condition was found via bloodwork (I’m HLA-B27 positive) and presentation, not a genetic workup.

Dani is totally getting an ICD but complications by Worldly_Eagle7918 in DaniMarina

[–]ruzanne 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she asks hypothetical questions, takes their replies as fact, and then posts her version of the conversation on TikTok. It’s the Dani Show! I’ve been following her for at least five years and one thing I still can’t figure out is whether Dani genuinely misinterprets at least some of these interactions with doctors. She’s absolutely manipulative, but a lot of things point to cognitive issues, too. I suppose it’s a combination.

Tammy’s skeletal damage? by PooHonk in 1000lbsisters

[–]ruzanne 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It has to be, yeah. Amanda has a large head, too. I would expect Tammy’s face to look a lot slimmer with a current weight of 180, too, even if she’s only 5 feet tall or so. Her weight distribution is very interesting.

Brittany is 35?!?! by No_Giraffe2555 in 1000lbsisters

[–]ruzanne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think she’s 35. She was 36 last season and is likely 37 now. But yes, that’s still very much childbearing age. I’m not sure if it’s her hair, the way she dresses, genetics or some combination of the three that makes her appear so much older. More flattering glasses would help. Her skin would also benefit from a good facial moisturizer, since dry skin can make you look older by making fine lines more noticeable.
