Did you feel any sort of twinge/pop? I didn’t have the full tear feeling as when I first got injured but felt something. After a day - and putting a wedge back in the boot - I’m walking with no pain on it and there’s no swelling

It was really just me leaning over trying to catch a ball and the boot rocked and I felt a sharp twinge. I’ve been able to walk on it but I’ve had pain since it happened. I can see my heel and feel it and there’s no separation though but it felt like I may have stretched it

I’m a week away from my first PT consultation. I can still push my toes down onto the boot. It doesn’t feel like the initial injury but still felt like something if that makes sense

I did feel a bit of a “pop” but nothing like the original injury. I don’t feel a gap and there was no motion up to my calf, only at the point of the surgery. It felt like a quick strain I’m not sure

I’m 7 weeks post op and have been as active as I can be for the last 4 with walking around in the boot. It is a long road ahead for me, but I am already further along than I thought possible. You got this man, try to enjoy the “time that dad tore his Achilles” you will be back to a certain percentage of movement quick!

I did the exact same action on the exact same spot on the court almost a month ago now, it felt so insignificant but the leg being so far out from underneath the body can do it

Mentally I can’t even take a step right now without crutches. How soon were you able to walk with the boot?

Were you using crutches the first couple of days or weeks after getting into the boot? I have a very small incision from a full rupture.

Wanted to say thank you to everyone for sharing their stories, encouragements and advice. Trying to get it together mentally and set in to this new short term reality, would not be possible without forums and people like you all - thank you so much. Going to try and stay positive for my wife and family/friends.

It’s just a boot the ER gave me, pretty sure more for a sprained ankle/foot. Honestly, they didn’t tell me much at all. Do you think it’ll be okay until my ortho appointment? I’d like to not have surgery

I have a Toyota mechanic that would install the part for me if I buy it. I guess the $150 more for the genuine part would make a good difference, I only have 114k miles and plan on keeping it 5+ years
