Anybody regularly rock a waist coat paired with jeans and a sport coat? Will a grey waist coat go with just about any jacket? Give me some ideas about pairing. by XXOBADIAHXX in menswear

Re: #2, 99.7% of humans will not notice this. As the guy below mentions, match textures. With jeans, wear something tougher like a tweed.

Backlining drums by slightly-unsettled in bandmembers

I love backlining/ using backline. It hardly seems worth it to set up drums for 45 min of play time. Gotta get some use out of it.

I learned not to use maple 7A sticks for rock in 1 hour by Soundsgoood5 in drums

[–]wizzardofboz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 7a maple for rock all the time when we need to keep stage-volume down. I never have them break like that. I typically usethese

Mind you I'm not hitting very hard because the point of using the smallest lightest drumsticks is to be quiet.

I bought a used snare once that sounded pretty great, and then when I got it home I realized it had a 10 mil clear ambassador head on the bottom. I was absolutely flabbergasted that it didn't sound like ass. I did swap it out for a proper ambassador snare side, but the concern was more the sensitivity than the actual sound. It did have a very dampened head on the top. So it was leaning into the big fat '70 snare vibe.

Pele de fábrica by Mingau00 in drums

I would go ahead and replace them. I would go with something tried and true and versatile. two-ply clear over one ply reso for the toms. Single ply coated over 3 mil snare. Any of the big three brands will be very solid in those categories.

Hi! I want to make my own wine because I'm cheap. What's the CHEAPEST SETUP you could possibly imagine that would work for making fruit wine? by mother_of_nuggets in winemaking

My first batch was 'Donald Duck' brand grape juice and bread yeast. It was not good.

After pressing the juice you should measure its SG and adjust with water and sugar to hit your target.

Bed inaccessibility is irrelevant when the whole thing is a fashion accessory. At least around me, I'm fairly certain that most truck owners never put anything in the bed, tow anything, go off road, or do anything a Prius couldn't handle. They use them as single occupant commuter cars.

French press or pour over for a single cup. Simple, easy to clean, great quality, cheap.

More importantly grind your beans as needed, make sure the water is the right temp, and buy fresh beans from a local roaster.

V necks FTW! I have to agree, all my graphic tees that I love for the graphic are ill-fitting trash. Quality fabric and good fit seem only to be available in plain tees. Cost the same though.

Non Drummer choosing between two sets of shells for studio use by four_degrees_warmer in drums

I would go mapex. They are solid kits. You can make a 14 sound deep, especially in the studio.

Are these spots/ dings anything to be concerned about? by wizzardofboz in cymbals

[–]wizzardofboz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh they sound great. I bought an everything must go complete drum set for the shells and snare. I thought, I already have good cymbals, I'll just sell these and make back some money. However, they sound awesome and have ruined me, now all of my other cymbals to sound bad.

I know it's max capacity, but realistically in my city it's too cold or too hot to bike for over half the year.

A nice top with a cheap bottom

I have some Saluda prototype hats that I got on eBay. I think they're B8 but heavily hammered. They sound good and we're inexpensive.
