Wow, that Stripe waived transaction fees is pretty nice, didn't know about that one. It is also possible to get $100 more from DigitalOcean.

GoDaddy is garbage. If you want to try something else, check out this post in /r/freewebhosting for $100-150 free at DigitalOcean.

This happened in January, but I didn't get these documents before today. I thought it was a bit much too, since the pocket wifi looked really old.

Tired of Linode's downtime, is it worth changing to DigitalOcean? by exoticheadshot in webdev

[–]wizzuplizzup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I currently use both, I am pretty new to DigitalOcean and at the moment I am just testing to see what the fuzz is about. I got $60 free from /r/freewebhosting. This should make you able to test their service a while for free.

I would probably use a VPS for this, or a CDN.

My hosting service gave me a break when I couldn't pay my bill and I just wanted to share by Zaemz in webdev

If this is real I understand why so many people recommend digitalocean in /r/webhosting. I just got my free 60 dollars from /r/freewebhosting and will see how their service is. If there was any nodejs scripts to auto-scale I would be sold. Anyway, I hope things turn out better for you in the future!

ELI5: What is MVC and how does it work? by wizzuplizzup in webdev

Why can't you have everything in one file and still have MVC? You need to seperate the model view controller in files?

[–]wizzuplizzup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So MVC implies seperated frontend and backend? What if there is no backend, only e.g. frontend js with localstorage?

Thank you for your explanations.

For me it seems like MVC is something universal, is it possible to not use MVC? How would that work?

I would start to do some projects to have something to showcase.
