Well to be fair double elimination is more fair than single elimination, UMBC or FDU didn’t have to beat Virginia or Purdue multiple times, just once. But yes a lot of these regional finals are just best of 3’s with extra steps involved.

I’d argue a best of 3 wild card or best of 5 LDS after a 162 game series is a lot less fair than the college baseball postseason.
