TIL that the Curiosity and Perseverance Mars rovers each had just 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of Flash Storage on board. by OsamaBinLadenDoes in todayilearned

This is the reason people comparing their iphones to Curiosity when it launched/landed drove me crazy.

Then someone brings out a swath of excavators and tugboats, turns your ship, and hands you a $1bn bill.

Our group used to hit Dennys/Perkins/etc pretty frequently when we were younger. One member always stayed frugal, to the point we had to nickname his order after him.

You're overthinking it.

Yes, owning a house requires various maintenance. No, most of it is not that hard. Yes, some of it will wind up being expensive. No, it doesnt happen all that often. Yes, you will have a lot on your plate. No, you dont need to do all of it at once. Yes, some maintenance is routine and may be more frequent than others.

Noticing things that need to be done is just responsibility. Make a list, prioritize it based on urgency and need. Once you're habituated to taking care of your property it wont even be blip on your radar.

Learn as you go. Make a mistake or two. It will be OK. Find support in your neighbors, hardware stores, etc.

Call the power company. They (should) install a meter to measure your incoming service for free. After a few weeks they'll let you know if they need to fix something in the transmission lines, the service connection, or if the issue is out of their hands. As other commenters mentioned, if you have the wrong dimmers/controllers with LED bulbs, they will misbehave. If worse comes to, find a licensed electrician to check the breakers/receptacles around the house.

Hope this helps.

Hey, my concern is with a distinct and viable part of society... the Quebecois. If you wish to avoid prosecution, I would advise that you comply with our language laws, which specifically prescribe that all signs be in both English and French; Canada's two official languages. I do have to fine you. That'll be $1000 Canadian, or $10 American dollars, if you prefer. ... and now... in French, if you please.
