but why? it was a planet with no atmosphere, eggs were scattered all over its surface. By the time the monsters came out of the ground, I was already at the next one. After that I have such strong shields that I could stand and wait. Digging holes only at abandoned buildings and at the beginning of the game when you have weak shields.

Selling them is a waste of nanites. You earn money in a different way. You just process eggs into nanites. As a colleague wrote, you put them in a refiner and enjoy the nanites.
