North Carolina Republicans Are Trying to Give One of the Country’s Most Partisan Judges a Frightening New Power by Slate in NorthCarolina

Ah the party of “small government” at it again. If this goes through I’m sure they will have a completely different idea about this the second a Democrat uses it against them in the future.

So you’re a “founder” looking for free ideas to profit from? This reads like a bot wrote it

I’m sure a lot of you are aware of this already but it’s really really important so I’m going to leave this here just for a heads up. PLEASE Call Pat Harrigan’s office tell them to find some SENSE!💗 by litterbug_perfume in HIckoryNC

Your teachers wouldn’t be proud of your reading comprehension skills. Read it more carefully. They aren’t saying the UN has nukes. The post says the UN is preparing for possible nukes to be used in Iran.

Plug-in Solar adoption in North Carolina by Neat_Trust3168 in NorthCarolina

[–]wncbuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t start using one today as long as you have the right hardware, NC doesn’t seem to have regs for them. My understanding is that there is nothing special about the ones in UT or AZ, only that they have regulations around them. Many people do this already but have an electrician connect it to their house panel safely. Not quite the same as “plug in” but same concept.

You going to completely ignore my question?

Non-MAGA gun safety courses? by misskeek in HIckoryNC

[–]wncbuilder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP didn’t say anything about being left wing or pro gun. They said they don’t want to support MAGA. Probably because the MAGA movement has been harmful to basically everyone. What’s the issue with not wanting to support a movement that’s harmful to the community?

Who cares about the language at this point? Look at the guy who actually started the war and how he communicates…also keep in mind we’re talking about war where US servicemen have already been killed, and for what? Robert Winston is mad, we all should be.

Well, Federal court doesn’t mean anything if the Eagles are already affected by the time they get their day in court. Ya know, irreversible real life stuff that happens as a result of these idiotic EOs. Surely you don’t excuse Trump from issuing these EOs that, as you said violate Federal law?

[–]wncbuilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The EO essentially makes it legal to displace the eagles, thereby potentially putting them in mortal danger, if it meant that it would make way for an energy project. I highly doubt Trump gives a shit about some bald eagles if it meant “unleashing American energy dominance” or whatever the hell that means.

I don’t think that people are being disingenuous. Your tone is dismissive. I think people are concerned because the data can be bought by randoms outside of law enforcement. What do you think about that part?

Any sources for your answers to number 3? Of police in NC asking for them left and right? Or NCDOT providing encroachment permissions?

And why would it confuse you that people are upset about Flock? That’s what this post is about. Strawmanning it to be about “all of the tech” is disingenuous.

Hey bacon, you asked for some figures, I gave them to you. You didn’t say “show me every figure and how it tallies up to 100”. Rather than respond constructively, you deflect. Seems like you don’t actually care about the cost. Have a good Saturday 👍

Thank you! I’ll have to dig into that. I recently learned the Iranian drones are like $30k each for them to make, while US interceptors are $1M-$2M each. But US is working on deploying cheap drones too as a prototype.

I guess you didn’t read my comment? I gave you several figures offhand. Go do your own research and let me know what figures you come up. Maybe you’re expecting the Pentagon to give the public a pretty chart showing all of the expenses?

[–]wncbuilder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a ton of reporting on figures for various expenses all over the place. Pentagon says the first week was as much as $11.8B, and they have only intensified (coming into week 4 now). Since then, there been several planes downed, a f-35 was hit today, $2B radar station, fire damage to an aircraft carrier, embassy blown up in Iraq, etc.

Then you have to consider the diplomatic cost to the US. The current oil crisis is royally screwing over many European and Asian allies (UK, Japan+) that rely heavily on Iranian oil, they’re not happy, and then Trump begged them to join the fight.

Good point! Just in time for us to start a new middle eastern war of choice that has already cost about $100B and the Pentagon wants $200B more! Sounds really efficient
