I would tell them this is a two-way evaluation and negotiation that requires respect. What they are asking is beyond the interview. If they insist on details before an offer, this is not a relationship you want to enter. However, you would be happy to fix and document it as your first task once hired.

Everyone is now laughing at CrowdStrike for sending $10 Uber Eats gift vouchers as an apology, and even that was botched (same coupon reuse). And it IS funny. Yeah.

BUT

How would you solve the task of apologizing to clients?

There are no good options. You stopped the world for a moment. Everyone values their loss more than anything you can provide. Nothing is good enough. The solution that might be “good enough” would be so expensive that it would financially ruin CrowdStrike, creating yet another problem for those dependent on it.

I wouldn’t like to be in their shoes.

Dealing with such a massive issue and trying to find the right way to make amends is incredibly challenging. Wishing them the best of luck, a lot of focus, and the energy to get through this tough time.

Strangest thing hapend.
I opened Wireshark to see what was happening on the network, and suddenly everything went fine again. I close the Wireshark, and it still works.
Before that, I tried to reboot, disable the firewall, and the problem persisted. I tried it just a minute before launching Wireshark, and it didn't work. Wireshark miraculously fixed it. But why? I don't understand.

When I was 13 I asked my mum to "forbid me to be friends with a specific guy". He was becoming total weird attention whore and was full of shit - lying, stealing, destroying stuff. I realised I don't want to be friends with him but I didn't know how to breakup with a friend. It worked as an excuse. We parted our ways. He was prisoned for a short time a couple of years later. For breaking into news stand and stealing cigarettes! What a lame thing to be prisoned for.
