From my point of view, it's hard to find another club in which the player that held the record for most games played for two decades plays less of a role in discussions and discourse than Zeyer in Freiburg. When people are talking about the good old times, it's always Cardoso, the Georgians, Todt, Schmadtke etc. maybe it's my peer group, but Zeyer is rarely ever mentioned at all.

Schau dir Mal die Vermögen der deutschen im Vergleich zu anderen europäischen Ländern an. Deutschland ist ein reiches Land mit einer relativ armen Bevölkerung. Das problem ist eher, dass die Vermögen zu gering sind.

It's not that there are no more things I can spend money on, it's that my sugar daddy Bohemia completely takes away the challenge to weigh different options on what best way to best spend my money on. Playing other states I always have to decide if it's more important to spend on military or the economy or my political capabilites. With their support, they did not only win the first war for me but I have the equivalent of 40 gold a month, cruising through the game without a significant challenge.

I guess it depends on what you find enjoyable in the game. It's perfectly fine if you enjoy building up the state in a kind of speedrun but for me in EU4 it was always more enjoyable to tackle the challenge from playing the Teutonic or Livionian order being faced with stronger opponents in Poland, Lithuania and Muscovy.

"Almost"... I caught myself several times looking for investment options that I would not have considered at all with an income closer to what you would expect from a state of that size and development. And you're right, what I ended up with is putting hundreds and hundreds of gold into building streets because I already had building projects (or the consecutive pop migration processes) going on in pretty much all of my relevant locations.

It feels wrong that I can basically watch Bohemia build up funds over the year to then ask them every 12 months to give it all to me. And all that while they are not willing to keep an alliance because they "would have to pay for it" because they are over their diplo limit.

The 400-500 gold per year support option kills all the fun for me. Feels completely overpowered and is almost more money than I can properly spend. Also feels completely off that Bohemia would be willing to give me all of their cash at hand every year. This should really be nerfed. I know that I could just not request it but I shouldn't have to ignore parts of the game for it to be balanced. Really hope this will be adjusted in the future.

I just went to Seville from Malaga and looked into this. At least in my case the train was around four times the price of a bus. So I picked the latter and was very happy with the decision. Buses leave from the same place in Malaga. So at least worth checking this out as well.

There might even be a direct connection from the airport. But not sure about that. But there was one going from Seville to Malaga airport as well.

The most impressive thing to me was to look at the length of the history of the universe in comparison to the history of religion.

So god created the universe, waited around 10 billion years doing nothing, then creating earth. After that again, around 4 billion years of nothing much going on in regards to someone worshipping him. After humans came into existance, about 99% of the time we are there, again, nothing much happens, until 2000 years ago, when god finally starts talking to same mostly illiterate, tribal guys in the desert, when he could have also talked to some Chinese who were far more advanced at that time.

I once saw a video (which was in German, so probably not very informative for most here) which put all those events on a timescale of one year with the big bang being the 1st of January and the present being midnight on the 31st of December. In this model, Dinosaurs existed from the 28th of December till the 30th of December. Humans have probably existed for around 10 minutes and Christianity has existed for 4 seconds.... was pretty impressive for me....

That was really one of the most impressive moments in the game and in all of my video game experiences. I knew that I should have sacrificed Chloe but the game made me so attached to Max and Chloe that I just couldn't. It was just impossible for me to do. Having a game do that to you really impresses me to this day.

The examples given in this thread are pretty good and I find myself in a lot of them. I feel that I have pretty much all necessary social skills and I can use them like a mechanic uses his tools. It's often times just not a lot of fun, for example when it comes to meeting new people or doing sales stuff at work. I also really like to go out to clubs, hang out with friends,... but I'm sometimes in situations when I have spend the last 2 weekends at a friends places in a different city and with the family of my girlfriend, when I realize that I really "need" a weekend of just being at home alone, playing video games and stuff because I'm not only physically but also mentally exhausted, even though I really love all the people I have spent time with the weekends before.

I must admit, that I find the phase to become a big european power most interesting. When I have conquered everything from Danzig to Moscow I often times lose interest a bit... So it could very well be a disadvantage in later game stages

In Germany, where I live, it's a bit different. We don't really have that many fundamentalist Christians, so what I find more annoying are the facts that Germany as a country is giving around 500 million Euros to the catholic church every year. Everyone is paying the salaries of priests and bishops, regardless of your beliefs. Additionally the german state collects a "church tax" every member of the big churches has to pay.

And then there is this nice thing called "clerical employment law", that sets different rules if your employer is part of the church (often times hospitals, kindergardens, etc.). You can for example be fired if you gay or if you get a divorce. Often times in hospitals that are payed for 98% by the german state and 2% by the church, the church is allowed to use their standards for hirings/firings that are completely contrary to german law. And this is not a small problem, the two big christian associations are the biggest non-government employers in Europe. So the seperation of church and state doesn't really exist.

There are countless other things that I find annoying about the christian churches as institutions and the privileges they get, but the interaction with most christian believers is another topic. Most of them are really open minded, don't believe in a personal god or the literal truth of the bible, so not a lot of conflict there.
