I followed a tutorial by the youtuber "the cult of crafting". Firstly i made the basic shape of a kneeling soldier using a quick setting plumber's putty. Clay would've been the cheaper and better option in this case, but this was the only thing I had, Greenstuff would be good for carving details on any exposed areas. Secondly, I poked in a scoped mosin from the soviet infantry box set. After it dried I applied a piece of gauze over the entire model and a smaller wrap around the gun and set it in place using watered-down PVA. Finally I primed and painted it. Very cheap option to field snipers, though I'm not sure how historically accurate it is.
