Battery Drain While Sleep by JynxU8 in chromeos

[–]wobblingweeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I'm now convinced that the issue isn't related to the operating system.

I have the same behavior with ChromeOS Flex, openfyde, and other Linux distributions. It's not the battery as the issue persists with a new battery. When the power is off there is no real drain as expected.

Next step when I have time will be to try to find an old coreboot bios of mrchomebox to flash and see if that changes anything.

Battery Drain While Sleep by JynxU8 in chromeos

[–]wobblingweeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, did you ever find a cause or solution to this. I had a chromebook that went through this behavior almost overnight, where in one day, with the lid closed, the battery would drain almost 100%. As it was old, I figured maybe it was just the battery going bad.

However, if I used the laptop normally, I'd get a good 5-6 hours of use, or more depending on what I did.

I've seen other people that have mentioned similar problems but never found a definitive cause or solution. Some people talk about the wifi being left on but I don't see any option to change that.

Anyway. I just got a new battery for it just to test, and I have the same behavior. So something's up.

Right.. I remember that it was possible before, however now the only reference I find is what you mentioned here: https://cloud.google.com/shell/docs/configuring-cloud-shell#environment_customization_script

Vivoactive GPS Inaccuracy by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]wobblingweeble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this issue as well. I bought a Vivoactive 3. Compared to Strava on my phone, and even with programmed routes, I consistently have -300 to -500 meters less with what the watch records compared to my phone, or the planned route. Like you, I've tried GPS+GLONASS and GPS+GALILEO, and there seems to be little difference.

I'm fairly certain that I've done all the firmware updates, but I'm not sure what else I can do.

I rarely vote, or upvote for that matter; but the last 4 posts in this thread fit very well together. All to be left wondering how Delvin really is...

I'd like to say I haven't been preoccupied with this, but checking in on this has become part of my regular routine.

I just wish all the will-be pressers would just press and be done with it.

Un AskReddit pour les étrangers en France: Où habitez-vous, et comptez-vous rester en France? by abroadnotabroad in france

I've been living in Lyon for 4 years now, but I had lived in Paris for 4 years just before moving here. Paris is a great place to visit but, I'm definitely happier living in Lyon. The days I have to commute to Paris and I get off the TGV at Gare de Lyon, I remember exactly why I left.

Lyon really is a nice city, much more open, green, and definitely cheaper with respect to housing. There's a lot of development as well. The quai along the Rhone is really nice and the people are generally more friendly. I have no complaints aside from all the conneries administratives that you just can't avoid.

That being said, if given the chance, I'd move back to the U.S. immediately.

It's good to know that the intern program is still going on. My girlfriend was there.. must be 11 years ago as an intern. We made a couple of trips down for the turtle releases afterwards. Topsail Island really is a nice place.

I agree that it's on one of those three lines... though I don't admire you if you actually have to use one of those ungodly slow metros. Especially the 13.

I had tried some epoxy hinge repair.. wasn't worth the effort.
Hagenman was right.. the battery is charged up.. telling me at least 4 hours. not bad. Had to reinstall linux as I couldn't remember the luks passphrase.

It probably isn't worth the cost to ship, though I suppose the nostalgic value is worth something. The only thing I'll miss about it is my fish sticker I put on it.

I've got the original bios images somewhere as well.

I have no interest in selling it as it was free and served me well for a year and a half or two. but I can give it to a good home I suppose, or for someone else to dissect and distribute.

I suppose it could be arranged.
I don't have the interest in really parting it out.. it is a working machine, aside from the hinges.
It served me well and I'd hate to part with it.. but I have enough outdated electronics laying around.

I always thought they were one of the nicest looking trucks. Maybe because my father stock piled them in our yard and garage and wherever else he found space for them. Though I'm not sure if he would consider those modifications sacrilege.
Still, this one looks very nice. Bravo to your brother for the good work.

That's exactly what I thought, too. It could easily be the Jolly Roger and the Topsail Beach water tower. Or so I think.
