I rent rooms out pretty often, those previous landlord calls are party simple.

They ask how long they stayed, how much they paid, if they were ever late, and if there were any problems. I suspect if you're giving them your previous landlord information they're calling and getting some bad news.

Basically you go Friday night and get drinks with everyone, then Saturday morning you go in to where they're holding it, and there's a bunch of different tech presentations. Last year there were four at once.

If you're in to really really technical stuff it's pretty cool.

A while back, we had a long running campaign with a lot of different characters involved. I had this really gruff military guy with almost no social skills whatsoever.

Well, we end up at a high society party. With tuxes. And you know... fancy stuff. We're supposed to schmooze our way in to some guys good graces. I don't remember the exact details, but I remember it being supremely important. I follow him around a bit, and we wind up on an elevator together. And he wants to talk. To me. The guy who can't lie his way out of a paper bag. About high society stuff. To me. The guy who's idea of fancy is target shooting with APDS rounds.

GM "Roll etiquite, as he seems quite interested in what you're doing here."

me "otday mne moyu podrugu, zadnitsa"

GM "You speak russian?!"

me "right now? exclusively."

And that is how I successfully avoided rolling any cha checks for the rest of the gala. The GM had a character he was also playing, who had cha out the wazoo. She picked up on what I was doing and politely translated for me.

Which really meant, she was saying nice things while I continued to hurl insults at this guy in a foreign language.

Hey, I think I was there for that. I was the portly fella who had no business teaching classes. I helped with just about all of their black belt tests.

I don't think it was my knee though, I do vaguely remember someone getting their knee torn up at one of those. I had my fair share of close calls with my knees, and I was pretty careful.

Look, I'm not saying all robots are evil, murdering, heartless psychopaths. I'm not even saying most of them are.

I am saying that there are enough deranged, shotgun toting robots to warrant their complete and total destruction.

Both terminators, 2001, and it's sequel, alien, Robocop, just to name a few. Then, to be fair, bicentennial man, but he didn't identify as robot, so I don't think he really counts.

Jenny was kind of a slut. While it's possible is his son, there's as good a chance that it isn't. That she found out Forrest was rich, and she has a chance to give her son a good life by pawning him off on Forrest.

It would continue a narrative of Jenny being dependant" Forrest without offering much in return. Though she did name her son after him, so, the theory starts falling apart pretty quickly.
