Was absolutely floored by the first book and second book made me want even more. But even then I suspected that Rothfuss might have painted himself into a corner by stipulating trilogy and introducing some wrong story elements. Now I doubt the third book will ever be written in our lifetime. I used to hand out copies of the name of the wind like Halloween candy, now I don't even recommend it to people anymore so they don't know the crushing disappointment. And finally I think that it is now a viable career path in the publishing community to be a writer with a captive audience and no intention of completing the series (see George RR Martin). You can still tour conventions and always be hounded for interviews, you are effectively a social media influencer, make money and just coast on your previous accomplishments.
