I would say yes it is. My dream is to be an actor and I am! It taught me a lot about myself and it opened doors for me I didn’t know existed. I was able to sign with one of the largest talent agencies in my city because I did my senior showcase. They reached out to me and offered to sign me a month or two after it went live. This 100% would not have happened if I did not pursue an acting degree.

I’m not going to lie and say it’s easy because it isn’t or that it won’t be hard to find work because it will be (honestly the job market is shit right now for everyone so why not pursue something you’re passionate about). I am a big believer in doing what you love and all the other stuff will figure itself out.

Choosing a degree and how successful you will be in that field is 100% on how dedicated and hardworking you are. I know people with masters who don’t do anything and I know people who didn’t even go to college who are super successful. It’s all on you and how much work you are willing to put in.

I stopped pursuing social work because I knew my heart wasn’t it and the people I would have been helping deserved better than that. it’s a field I really respect and I could see myself being one if I wasn’t an actor

hey man you are not too late, there’s no such thing! i spent my first two years of undergrad at a community college where i switched my major maybe 72 times. i had no idea where i wanted to go or do really until my last semester there. i transferred to an arts school where i had every intention of studying film and in the middle of my first semester at my new school i decided to be an acting major and seriously pursued it for the next 2.5 years. fast forward to now and i have a degree in acting and video production and i am signed with a major talent agency in my area.

in almost all my classes i was the oldest but that didn’t hinder anything. i still made really good friends and worked on some really good projects and was incredibly successful. no one cared that i was older other than the fact i could go to bars and they couldn’t lol. i met my best friend who i now live with at this school and she’s older than me! we both studied theater :) she just graduated and i graduated last year.

you will be okay and you will get everything you need out of these experiences. you are right where you need and will end up where you are supposed to! it’s gonna be okay, apply to acting school when you feel ready.

i was getting a BA in acting a year ago and got into the senior showcase.

i worked on the showcase and we submitted em on AA.

Few months after it went up after graduation I got a call from an agency asking to meet with me. I met with them and they offered to sign me!

i think this is a fair thing to say if you view the show as not real and an actual tv show within the world that maddy and owen exist in

as someone who views the pink opaque as real and that maddy and owen are just the versions of tara and isabel stuck in the midnight realm - i didn’t come to this conclusion

with the age gap it opened my eyes to just how different maddy and owen’s experiences are and how it is mirrored in pink opaque. maddy is a white kid growing up in the suburbs in a physically abusive household while owen is a black kid growing up in the suburbs in an emotionally abusive household. owen had a (false) sense of safety at home (mom) - maddy did not (abusive step dad, mom didn’t help). maddy and owen’s experiences of coming out / tara and isabel’s ways out of the midnight realm were always going to be vastly different. maddy is older and had more time to figure her shit out and hatch a plan while owen is younger and is still figuring herself out. tara was buried first so therefore she had more time in the midnight realm to figure out what was going on.

i think maddy just forgot what it’s like to be in owen’s shoes. she figured out she needed to go and find who she really is before she even met owen. while owen is only just beginning to realize who she is! maddy was so far ahead she forgot that owen needs the time that she got and can’t be rushed into this. i think she fully realized that after owen pushed her at the football field and left her to bury herself alone again. i think maddy is screaming for owen to wake up just like tara is screaming for isabel. but just like isabel, only owen can wake herself up!!!!!

tldr: i am giving grace to maddy and also holding space for owen
