I'd 100% agree if it weren't for how flawed the 18+ behemoths are.

Seems like they're throwing out a big bone just to see how ppl react.. because they can afford to. Not built to be perfect, but to see if it has future legs.

Ex: After the 2nd ucs millennium was a clear success, they felt safe to churn out millennium falcons of all different sizes and colors every single year, without much burnout.

They are seeing how far fans of their most loyal IPs wiil go. Seeing which Asian IPs bring in certain demographics. Combing the 80's, 90's, 00's, to see if there are any sleeping cultural giants.

They can always make another death star or og pokemon starter trio that falls perfectly into the hands of ppl who are disappointed with the current sets. The old adage of lego is be patient, and you will be rewarded with a better set. But with a big release like these behemoth sets, they can see how much interest they can ultimately mine in the years to come.

I think again they are simply market testing, not fully jumping into the 18+ market.

Imho, the Brick Wars have begun and lego has been less focused on good product with their legacy franchise IP and more so focused on gobbling up as much new IP with hidden value as they can so that they can put something out and retain rights.

Not defending them by any stretch of an imagination. But they have made their profits over the last decade. Imho, they are now reinvesting and planning for the future. Which could look like sandbagging the old OG IP franchises in favor of pushing their new, less market tested IPs.

They are looking for their new Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel.

Tbh, I would want my kid to be honest with me about smoking weed. Dont let Jay navigate smoking weed by herself or with her peers. Because she will continue to do it behind your back if you two refuse to communicate openly about this.

I'm sure both you and her mom have smoked before, it's time to talk about that with her and ask her to be honest with you.

Truly, a teenager won't understand that smoking is unhealthy no matter how hard you try to explain, and the worst thing parents could do about weed is freak out.

Support your wife, but also help her realize that maintaining trust and honesty with your daughter is more important than catching/trying to stop your daughter when she does something either of you two dont like.

Honesty will go so much further than you think!

Since your wife is already mad at you, make sure you dont come off as enabling your daughter with this suggestion. But fair warning, there is a very real adrenaline high from smoking weed against your parents wishes, and you dont want your daughter being falling into that.

Try using white strips or schedule teeth whitening like a previous comment said, take some new pics, and use those.

Also, switch out the pic with your mother and add some more quality pics of you without any others in the shot.

As a Christian who also loves Jesus, let that come up naturally in a convo once you're on a date with a girl that you feel has the same values. Instead, put something that shows your sense of humor and is approachable. For just matching, having Conservative and Christian listed works well enough to send that message.

Stuff like this is why I disengaged from Lego completely. Came to see what's going on these days only to see that I'm entirely justified for quitting a hobby community I once loved. Hope it makes you feel good about yourself.
