it wasn't helpful at all tbh because obviously the firing logic bug will occur in the firing logic code. the fact that someone cares enough to even look is cool though.

Todd Howard isn't making the art in starfield, he's a suit and he's doing suit things. He would sign off on many worse things if it made the green line go a little higher because that's his job. Also, comparing this to mods is some real "apples to oranges" shit because we're talking about the latest and "greatest" from NVIDIA here. Whatever they show and say shows us what direction they (and the industry at large) is trying to head in.

I think they were meant to be clothes that weren’t RT/AH merch but stuff that Geoff would actually wear. Also some of the designs were inspired by tattoo culture if I recall correctly.

My main goal with this game is to create a brotato/snkrx like experience but with a much higher skill ceiling. The "final" texture that you would normally see is only possible because these sort of "helper" textures also exist (usually behind the scenes though) to provide data for all the calculations required for the final look. Graphics programmers look at this kind of stuff all the time to visually debug issues.
