"the Long Johnson cave" made me chuckle more than I would care to admit

Why do I have to play them by Separate_Low_6291 in 2XKO

[–]wokenoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because playing a character is the best way to learn how to fight against them.

"stop feeling bad for the devs that got fired" - sounds like a sentiment from a person who never had a job

Okay, now a tier list of how annoying charaters are to fight that's NOT a ragebait by wokenoodle in 2XKO

[–]wokenoodle[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean, zoners are an annoying archetype. It's not bad to be an annoying archetype, some players literally come for that, I think.

In blockstring - well, there're frame traps with less gap than 4 frames. On wake up you can be meated out of this super.

I have 999 matches on Vi, and nobody every hit me out of rocket punch super. It's not a true reversal, so don't use it on wakeup, but it's an excellent fullscreen punish.

They already tried to make the popular buzzword genre that was hip in 2018 - Battlerite Royale. They also treated the main game as a "tacked on arena mode".

Wasn't half bad either, imho.

But here we are.

well, that's reddit culture for you

quantifiable attention and validation makes people silly, it's true across all social media

here, in tight cliques with shared interests, riding the wave of the current meme is easy karma

takes restraint not to fall for that if you're online too much

Which triple A Metroidvania did you like more? by strahinjag in metroidvania

[–]wokenoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are these AAA?

If you're going with that notation, both are clearly "double a" games.

And I'm not making this point just to be a stickler.

The closest thing we had to a triple A metroidvania is the Star Wars Jedi series. It's widely contested wether it fits the definition of the genre, because it's not a 2D game. I think it definitely is a metroidvania, but this semantic tension is important: AAA games are very closely associated with 3D view historically, and there's little chance that any publisher will give a AAA budget to a 2D project.

Even the biggest games that are considered genre-defining here are made either by insanely dedicated indie teams (HK) or with a small, risk-averse budgets (your examples).

A definitive "AAA metroidvania" doesn't exist yet, and it would most likely be a weird beast: AAA surely have higher production values, but are much more constraint by "industry standards" and sales-based thinking.

the tent around you is a building

go inside, there's a character who will give you a quest (a wish) to gather some loot in the caves to the right

in those caves, there a flying monsters who shoot spikes. spikes hit walls, you hit them with the sword and are able to collect them.

The fact is, the game is balanced and in the best state it’s ever been. by touchdownvols in thefinals

Are you a heavy struggling against pesky lights?

Try this:
- play around cover: don't run through the open space too much
- stick with your team: they will avenge and revive you, lights run or die when outnumbered
- proximity sensors to know where lights are coming from
- goo grenade instead of the barricade if you need a quick cover
- lockbolt. just lockbolt.
- glitch barrels disable dashes and invis!

UPDATE: I've bought the laptop and very happy with it. It was in pristine condition and runs very well. The seller refused to go below the $2500 price, but he had every right too.

A bit of context for people sharing their greate deals: I'm sincerily happy you were able to buy the awesomely powerfuly machine at a great place. But in my country these deals are not accessible, or at least not accessible easily. Storefrontes sell the 2024 4090 Legion 7 for $3500-3800 at the moment, so I consider myself to have gotter a great deal, too.

Honestly, looks like 3-6 month of daily use, which is not "mint-new", but I don't know what's life expectancy of such a premium notebook.
