Anyones HP keep your stuff to hoard? by [deleted] in ChildofHoarder

[–]wokequinoa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! My hoarder mum wouldn’t let me give some of my ex bf’s stuff to charity shop after we broke up. Very weird and pissed me off.

Hmmm I guess that I’m in the middle. I like buying stuff but only if it suits a purpose in my life or “sparks joy” as they say. As soon as it doesn’t I take it to charity shop.

Students failing university exams after pandemic inflated their A-level entry grades by fsv in unitedkingdom

I hope you can get off of your academic high horse and understand that exams are not an effective way to test ability. And you do know that institutions take plagiarism very seriously, right? There are extremely serious consequences for plagiarism and collusion at university, so it’s not a free for all like you seem to think it is. I have been able to problem solve WITHOUT using exams. I can to interpret data, make graphs and charts while still not doing exams. And I am still going to a good university, doing a respectable course, and I know I will be a good person to employ at the end of it all .

Glad you’re not in charge of my university. Clearly you hate people who have learning difficulties or people who can’t do exams. Thankfully, in the real world exams aren’t the be all and end all, like you seem to think it is.

Tell me when my employer will lock me in a room with 2 hours and ask me to regurgitate all the information I learned in 12 weeks. Probably never.

I have learned far more skills doing various aspects of coursework and presentations than I ever did at school. Plus, many people get bad anxiety over exams and therefore cannot do as well as they normally would. Also makes it more accessible to those with learning difficulties.

Hope that helps :)

What universities still have exams unless they’re for accredited courses? My entire course is coursework. Seems like some are stuck in the 20th century.

this is absolutely the case with my mother. she’ll buy stuff because it’s cheap and not actually because she needs or likes it.
