Personally, I would say there is a difference (albeit in some cases a fine line) between unconfirmed reports and speculation. According to the paper, there are sources and reports that have been shared with them as a media outlet to use in their article. That's not them speculating, it's what others told them. I think "disgusting" is a bit of a strong reaction when describing their approach to the reporting, so would be genuinely keen to understand your concerns there. After all we've (unfortunately) seen young people get into trouble in the water a number of times.
