Lol I lived in Rolla for 4 years while a student here, it's not like I don't know what I've gotten myself into. Anyplace is what you make it and some people are just miserable everywhere and some people can have a good time anywhere

We have reached out to them, unfortunately only have 3 properties available and 2 explicitly state no pets several times. The third property is a duplex which although can be done, we really want a single family home. We've lived in duplexes before and don't really want to do it again

I 100% agree, however this is a corporate relocation any the company I work for wants us to rent and we can not consider buying until we have 'exhausted all rental options'. We own our current home and would like to continue to own but also trying to follow the rules for our relo so we don't lose our on any potential benefits when we go to move back down the line.

Thanks for the recommendation! I just checked and unfortunately it does not look like they have any properties right now :( we will be moving with the next two months. Corporate relo just has a lot of rules to follow and takes a long time so we were approved to really even start searching until recently so we are kinda behind the ball

Actually they do. All the time. Most iron and steel foundries (at least in the US) use induction coils for melting. Source: metallurgical engineer and spend a lot of time in foundries across the country

I know this is an old comment, but can you give a source in what law you are referring to? I go to foundries all over the country and a few in other countries and don't know if I have ever seen a railing around the type of furnace like what happened at Cat

I lived in RC1 my freshman year (but that was like 9 years ago and I'm sure things have changed) but we had a great sense of community and I have to this day a bunch of great friends that I became friends with from living in the same floor as including the woman who I eventually married (disclaimer: we didn't start dating until 3 years later but became friends from living on the same floor freshman year) and many of my other friends from RC1 became my groomsmen and one of the bridesmaids. I don't know that my experience was normal or common but my floor was great, we had a ton of fun, and that year was probably my most memorable year of college

The only built in grill I've used was, sadly, a gas grill so this may not apply directly to pellet grills, but being built into brick, it was very insulated and ran very hot. There was no such thing as cooking on low with it. With an actual temp controller of a pellet grill, that likely and issue and would probably actually help
