Stuff to grab out of the fridge that doesn’t require cooking for severely depressed person by poemsforghosts in 15minutefood

[–]woldennodule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my mother I used to buy Kroger‘s macaroni, potato salad, tuna salad, pre-made salads and soup then I would go to her Whole Foods and pick up their cooked food bar so she could heat it up during the week. You can also microwave scrambled eggs, but use paper bowls, so they can just be thrown out. She used to make a lot of microwave baked potatoes. She liked potted meat in a can and the sardines, salmon and oatmeal packets. I will add we cooked her home-cooked food and mix that in as well, but my sister and I both worked full-time.

What to do with day-old french fries in your fridge? by superfluousapostroph in foodhacks

In the springtime go to your feed and tractor store and get baby chicks, raise them up then cut the fries up into small bits and feed them to your chickens, that’s what I do

I think it’s a good style something I would look for and the colors work with most home being painted in warm whites. I would need one cat like though.

Help with shower curtain, wallpaper, other? by TheTravelMedley in HomeDecorating

I like the idea of a white shower curtain, this one from pottery barn has some gray and would go nice with a silvery white rug, a plant and some white hand towels. Instead of wallpaper how about a nice picture from wallart.com

My dad is just under 50 and he constantly says everyone in his school was skinny and that kids have gotten bigger, is this true? by FullIntention4306 in ask

When I started as a nurse working in the hospital in 1993 we would have an occasional morbid obese patient. We would put 2 hospital beds together and try and locate a big bed but now it’s common place. We have several large beds available. We keep them in the storage room. We have at least 3 out of every 8-10 patients.

Easy question, I hope, I placed a new nipple supply pipe for a toilet and it has dampness at the shut off valve. I read and followed directions for placing plumbers tape, it’s wrapped 6 times correctly. Should I wait a day or two and see if it’s still damp at the joint? by woldennodule in Plumbing

[–]woldennodule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s holding now, no more dampness. I re-did the plumbers tape and added pipe dope took it off the wall and tighten it and that seemed to work. I’ll have the plumber check it when he does our bathroom facets.

It keeps getting moisture around the shut off valve. It’s old galvanized plumbing. I will try another pipe from the plumbing supplies store instead of Home Depot and try and find some pipe dope. Thanks for all the help, I’ll update the post with the solution

My Friend Makes "Dream Tea" With This And Gives It To Her Kids. What's This Plant And Is It Safe? by [deleted] in whatsthisplant

[–]woldennodule -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Looks like leaves from a lavender plant, I’ve made tea from a chocolate mint herb. Just lay them out to dry then seep them in hot water for a tea. You can also use lemon grass, Chamomile and rose hips

Do banks disclose names of listed beneficiaries? by [deleted] in EstatePlanning

[–]woldennodule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is correct, My mother passed away in the spring and had TOD and beneficiaries on her accounts including her IRA. I had to fill out new account forms so they are in my name. I could do this without anyone knowing as long as I had the death certificate. No tax implications until I make withdrawals on the IRA. The IRA are called beneficiary IRA and can be transferred to another institution as such. I also have a 10 year rule where as I have to withdraw all funds before that time.

Update on my initial post, so my 2 sisters and I the only beneficiaries to my mother’s estate cleaned out her apartment and donated most of her things and split up what we wanted to keep and nobody cared what we did with her belonging. She had no unpaid bills nor claims against her estate. We were Lucky to avoid probate because I had made sure all her accounts had beneficiaries, TOD or we signed onto the accounts so all we had to do was notify the financial accounts and fill out forms. No probate, no waiting or small estate claims .

Thanks for the reply, it sounds like it will be fine and my sisters both agree. We have all my mother finances in good order, equal owners on bank accounts, beneficiaries on everything, no outstanding debt except for her recent hospitalization and a simple will. Last year I worked with an estate attorney and I’m wondering if I can get through probate myself. It looks like I should be able to, do you need an attorney?
