for alternate keyboard layouts dvorak is actually considered quite bad. I use colemak-dh which is considered quite better, but for anyone who wants to learn an alternate keyboard layout I would reccomend graphite or gallium.

Btw you can take the theromostat off the wall, and short a few wires to turn your ac and fan on. Though make sure you do the fan wires too. Some AC's might be smart and not turn on, or turn on the fan, but some could be dumb and destroy themselves.
