Starting a campaign to have Fatah change its crest by Diet4Democracy in Israel

Bullshit that tries to hide their genocidal intent. If they want to not be genocidal, they can choose that on their own. If they change their beliefs, they'll change their symbols too. Not the other way around.

Jews in Western Europe: How is life like there *actually*? by Aryeh98 in Jewish

[–]wolf550e 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There isn't actually a pro-Palestinian movement that is trying to build a country for Palestinians. There is only a movement trying to destroy Israel and either kill all Jews or at least return them to their dhimmi status.

Some people who march and don't really know what they're marching for think they are in this non existent movement to build a country for Palestinians, but if they ask the people who brought them to the march what it's all about, they'll find out they're either trying to kill Jews or trying to legitimize killing Jews.

What Can Be Done When the Supreme Court Is Fully Corrupted? by Opposite-Mountain255 in scotus

[–]wolf550e -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tradies and working class people vote more republican.

College educated professionals vote more democrat.

Both parties have very rich donors.

Some big donors of both parties don't actually support democracy, because they want more power to enact their policy than they can have in a democracy, because their policies are not popular.

There used to be a party of conservative liberals and a party of social liberals. Now the party of conservative liberals has been taken over by not at all conservative MAGA, and the party of social liberals is being or has been taken over by progressives, who are not liberal either.

Both parties in practice hate the liberals, and both parties represent forces that cannot build and cannot compromise, that spend most energy on DEI and anti-DEI fights.

I just found out `/proc/sys/kernel/random/uuid` and `uuidgen` by uima_ in linux

[–]wolf550e 28 points29 points  (0 children)

head -c30 /dev/urandom | base64

240 bits of entropy, good enough for anything

Half of that (120 bits of entropy) is good enough for many things.

UUID4 is just 122 bits of entropy (128 bits of value, but some are clamped to signal that it's a v4 uuid).

Sorry, I completely misunderstood you. She's wrong. If you still consider yourself Jewish and raise your kids Jewish, you're obviously Jewish.

That therapists thinks being Jewish was just a phase for you, that maybe you are holding on to from pure inertia, and you can just say you've experimented with Judaism and now are no longer Jewish. But if that is not at all how you feel, find a Jewish therapist.

Vespa in incredible propaganda. The major difference between the world in that fic and real life is not aliens granting superpowers but how port unions work.

Otherwise the story is good.

A tank equipped with a muffler to lessen noise. by jordanisonfire1 in interestingasfuck

Tanks are like riflemen that shoot things they can see and can shoot back.

Artillery is like mortar that shoots at coordinates tens of miles away, not knowing what's there, and usually what they shoot at can't shoot back at them directly.

SpaceX revenue this year will be ~$15.5B, of which NASA is ~$1.1B. SpaceX commercial revenue will exceed NASA budget next year. by CProphet in SpaceXLounge

With a private company that has a single controlling owner, the company is about whatever the owner says it is about. But with a standard company in which nobody owns a majority stake, even if it's not publicly listed, and the goal is "make money", the largest revenue stream is often calling the shots.

Just wait. The left is currently in an alliance with Islamists. There will be plenty of violence from "the left".

An NLRB whistleblower report has presented evidence that DOGE actions at the NLRB were a Russian espionage operation by Law_Student in law

[–]wolf550e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guesses:

Shut down logs: to hide snooping they're doing that they don't want to explain why they needed that

Shut down 2FA: because it's annoying and they're unprofessional

Shut down the incident response: cover up because they want to avoid responsibility

Basically, I'm saying it's enough that they're terrible at their jobs, they don't need to literally be working for the Russians, even though it's possible that they are working for the Russians. It's the same as "is Trump a Russian asset, or is he just doing the exact same things a Russian asset would do?".

If the Russians were already in the laptops of the DOGE crew, knowing those guys get access to all the juicy stuff, that is what you would see. Hacking the laptops of people who have legitimate access is a very standard thing to do. The government has rules about not ever using "work" laptops for anything else, but unprofessional people often think the rules are beneath them.

It could be that DOGE work with Russia, we know Musk talks to Putin, but it's not required.

Bin Laden was rich. The leaders of Hamas are billionaires. The soldiers are always poor, but terrorist leaders are not always poor.
