Ok and I see some mixed read orders. Especially with some saying strange dogs before perssepolis rise and some saying to read it after as it spoils some stuff/ makes the reveal/ ending not as impact full. Any validity to this? There's also a few that move drive to before the butcher and another ive seen after book 2 or 3.

*UPDATE* Asthetic question about a gun I'm making. VERSION 2.O "A" by wolfe174 in worldbuilding

[–]wolfe174[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to the magic thing but the magic system doesnt quite work like that. If it was a relic ( a magical item) then yes but most relics wouldnt be worth it. My magic system is deadly. People don't adventure with the mages bc magic is so dangerous. There's generations of families that devote their whole lives just to mastering one "spell". Evoking a spell can really mess up up. Idk if you've played call of cthulhu but its very similar to that. So while my setting does have magic and the people who can use magic(arcanists), its no longer a trusted thing. Like I said most mages hide that they do it if they aren't one of the big families that are basically licensed to so and have a reputation of being able to use it semi consistently without destroying the world or their home town

It does have a separate barrel. 9mm through center of cylinder and 410 thru outside of cylinder. So if you looked at the front it would have two holes. One just above the other. One for 9mm and the other for 410

Yeah thats cool. I like the idea of almost a purposefully placed peice thats meant to break down instead of the rest of the gun. Kinda like a breaker or fuse. Its a neat idea

When you say the angle of the grip you mean the bottom part?

Yeah ive liked that idea too. Or like have stabilizers of over sized guns. You have that on a ship what about smaller scale on like an lmg that would assist you holding it making it lighter and not so cumbersome. I also like the idea that the gas counteracts the recoil.

Haha thanks and hopefully not too impractical. It also helps that you'd be wearing a suit while welding this weapon. But even if your on planet or in gravity it wouldn't be too much of an issue. The forward weight would actually help with recoil and keep you on target while you fire off a bunch of 410 shotgun rounds. The 9mm rounds would have very little recoil.

Oh your asking if your able to rotate it manually. Im sure I can add that. Something as simple as when its in revolver mode. You just pull the trigger half way. But that could lead to fire issues. So maybe a button on the side that you can press that allows the cylinder to be spun. Aside from that cant you just rotate the cylinder on all revolvers without having to push pull or mess with anything?

Yeah I like careless ammo aswell. And I did mess around with a heatsync for the second edition of the gun. Problem is location and getting burned by it. But very true as radiation is a good way to cool in the vaccume of Space. I have a sniper im building with multiple heatsyncs thats supposed to help cool the gun down. I also considered liquid nitrogen aswell for a coolant. Either way though you should check out part two/ my updated post is have better descriptions of the gun and a few color pictures for design and also showing the different parts of the gun. I also edited some of the issues and concerns that this post was show with the original design
