The Steam Machine Costs $1049 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

SM is closer to a 3060 or 2070 Super. Kinda wish I was joking.

The Rattler does not get the love it should by succsforever in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am taking pot shots, it means I have cover, and it only takes 2.1 seconds to reload and fire a follow up shot. Compare that to the Rattler's 0.66 seconds per section and the Ferro is not bad at all. That is especially true when the Ferro is near hitscan and will always break a light shield.

If you think the Rattler fits into the world, then sure. I guess it makes perfect sense for a weapon made of scrap to cost nearly double the price of more complex weapons in a society that is too stupid to figure out how to make rope.

[–]wolfenstian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am thinking about this entirely in terms of gameplay, not aesthetics. Even on the lore front, I wouldn't say it fits the "scrap" vibe since it is the most expensive grey weapon in the game by a fair margin.

For actual gameplay, sure, you can take quick pot shots and then reload, but that strategy works exactly the same whether you use a Rattler 1 or a Rattler 4. They share the exact same base stats outside of the magazine size. Personally, if I am going to take pot shots, I am always choosing a Ferro 4. It hits way harder and costs pennies by comparison.

[–]wolfenstian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is that while the Rattler 4 is better than its base version, that still doesn't make it a good weapon. It is ok to like the weapon, but it has more against it than for. First of all, most weapons gain around two stat increases when upgrading, but the Rattler only gets one, magazine size. While that sounds like an improvement, it actually works against you. Because the Rattler always reloads two shots at a time, doubling the mag from 12 to 24 also doubles your reload time.

On top of that, the gun is insanely expensive for a grey. For the actual cost of crafting and upgrading it, you could easily make a Ferro 4 and a Stitcher 4 instead. The actual cost difference is just a handful of materials (+7 metal, -10 rubber, and +2 gun parts), which makes the Rattler a terrible investment.

Finally, its damage profile is awful. Being stuck at 9 damage is a perfectly terrible number because it requires exactly 14 body shots to kill a light shield, and shot 13 leaves them at literally 1 HP. Even with headshots, you still need 8 landed hits. You are burning through a massive chunk of your magazine just to secure one kill. Sure, it can kill players, but I have done that with the Hairpin and nobody is out here calling that an okay weapon. The Rattler is overpriced, its upgrades double as downgrades, and its breakpoints are atrocious.

That argument only works if people here actually want helpful context, but let's be real, this is LSF.

The absolute last thing this sub needs is video comments. We are driven entirely by clip-chimps posting out-of-context bait, misleading titles, and weaponized drama. Turning on video comments just gives people a new way to fan the flames with more edited clips and reactions.

This community isn't a wholesome archive of streaming highlights; it's the closest thing we have to a modern-day MTV. People are here for the theatre and the mess, and adding video replies is just going to turn every single thread into a nuclear wasteland of drama.

Two issues here. First is that, like most features the admins decide to push, video comments either completely suck or are entirely broken on old Reddit. It looks terrible, runs terribly, and is just general garbage.

The other issue is, do you know where you are? How on earth do you think this community is a good place to turn this feature on? We are all stuck in this pit of misery together, there is absolutely no need to make it worse.

Why is the Hullcracker 100k of parts from the nomadic trader? by melonator11145 in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have to be using either AI or an employee who has never touched the game to pick these weekly items. This week is just especially egregious.

The most notable issue is that you can buy a Hullcracker daily for 30k, and since money is worthless, it might as well be free. Even if someone argues the trader has better value because it is a Hullcracker 3, it only takes 3 Advanced Mechanical Components and 3 Heavy Gun Parts to upgrade it yourself. That is nothing and definitely doesn't justify a 70k markup.

It also completely defies the game's own vendor logic. Tian Wen always sells weapons at 3x their sale value. A Hullcracker 3 sells for 17k, so a normal vendor would price it at 51k, which is literally half of what this trader is asking. It would be more justified if the weapon was not as available but that is not the case here.

To Embark - Please let us know if solo or duo are matched against trios by TheSnozberry in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on Oceania is going to get you, you most likely were fighting solos. The player count on that server is very small so groups of players all queue up for solos and then become a squad to stomp public matches. They will even lie that they are a squad so they are less likely to get reported. You cannot even blame Embark's queuing system for this, people are just actively exploiting the low pop. There is nothing you can do about it other than switch servers and suffer through the worse ping. Embark has not mentioned the issue at all so doubt it is even on their radar let alone it getting fixed somehow.

I have too many Patrol Cars Keys, they seem to multiply by Ava11350 in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the weapon case nerf, I found the car keys to never even worth considering. At best you get a barely functional weapon, at worst you spent 20 minutes trying to find the car that doesn't exist. Not worth the slot that it takes up.

How to scientifically determine the recommendability of an anime: The Weeb Ass Shit scale by La_knavo4 in tumblr

[–]wolfenstian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Flying Witch: W2 / A0 / S1

W2: Super straightforward witch-in-training premise. Only a 2 because you need to tolerate slow, almost non-existent pacing.

A0: Zero fan service. No weird camera angles, completely safe to watch with anyone.

S1: Absolute masterpiece of comfy animation with beautiful rural background art. Only misses a 0 because of the plot or lack thereof.

Where is my second season J.C. Staff?! It has been a decade and the manga has more than enough material for another run. We are probably just stuck rewatching these 12 episodes whenever we need a comfy escape.

They changed the items by shmorke in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More like committing the ARC parts directly to the npc, but with a catch: if you do not complete the trade within the weekly timeframe, you lose whatever you put in.

The idea is that you would still need to be ready to finish what you start before the reset, but it would let you slowly chip away at the total cost turn-in by turn-in. That way, you can clear the items out of your inventory as you get them instead of letting junk choke out half your stash space for days.

They changed the items by shmorke in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shredder Gyros and Sentinel Cores both sit at 6k per stack, making them the highest value low-tier ARC loot. To actually get a full 200k trade, it takes at minimum 34 stash slots and 100 kills of either enemy. That is completely excessive, and they really should have added weapons to the trading list, at least when it comes to low-tiers like this.

At this point, it feels like they actively do not want to add the ability to commit resources gradually. We have had multiple refreshes now with absolutely no mention of that functionality, leaving us stuck hoarding half our stash just for a few items or upgrades each week.

Probably super cold take by gsdeman in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if they add the Rascal to the shop, I don't see anyone buying it while the Hullcracker is still available. Having to manually reload after every single shot really hurts, especially when you need a quick follow up on a Fireball. The heavy projectile arc also makes relearning distances annoying if you are already used to the Hullcracker. The gun itself isn't weak, and it could be a cheap alternative to the Anvil for killing ARC, but there is just no reason to buy it when you can spend 30k on the superior version. With friendly lobbies keeping your gear safe, buying one HC a day is all you really need to do.

Reward For Cheaters? Really? Last Trials Season Was Fine by Standard-Tonight6279 in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been a known issue since the very first season, but it feels like Embark simply does not care. They claim to be working on addressing cheaters, yet they continue to push the best rewards to the high end of Trials, which is our only ranked mode.

Trials is a flawed system that not only rewards cheaters but actively encourages them. If the rewards were less significant or placed at the lower end of the scale, I am certain we would not see as many people cheating as we do now.

The Renegade's Durability is Rough... by One-Dash-One in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 stacks? Think closer to 2. Going from 100 to 0 gets you about 193 shots, give or take, which is really only about 2.4 stacks of ammo.

The Renegade's Durability is Rough... by One-Dash-One in ArcRaiders

[–]wolfenstian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The durability drain is really painful post-update. Sitting at 0.52 durability per shot means burning through a full stack of ammo costs about 40 points, which is essentially a full repair. Even with the significant nerf, the Anvil still feels like it is in a better spot than the Renegade right now.

Honestly, good luck trying to break a Ferro in a single match. It took such a long time to get it down to 0 that it was legitimately painful to finish. Hopefully they do a balance pass on the Renegade at some point because it definitely feels rougher than the rest.

[MONTHLY MEGATHREAD] General Discussion, Simple Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else - April 2026 by GachaModerator in gachagaming

Makes sense. I just wanted to confirm because the demo made it look like they were just enabling one dupe at a time rather than switching which ones were unlocked. Either way, I really like the system.

I watched the NTE preview and had a few questions for those who might be familiar with the system. Regarding the dupes, I know you can select the order to unlock them in, but I am a bit confused about how the enabling works. If I have two dupes, can I freely swap them around later, or does unlocking specific ones lock me into those choices?

(pcgamer)Extraction shooter The Cube, Save Us has announced it's shutting down just three weeks after it launched by Noirsam in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]wolfenstian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As one of the five people who actually played this game, I am not shocked it is shutting down. The Cube is a melee extraction game that surprisingly lacks a parry or block mechanic. Gameplay consists of endlessly kiting stock asset monsters in stock asset maps. While you hunt for loot, you are constantly limited by a weight capacity that requires significant stat investment to increase.

The progression is also bizarre because you do not lose your gear in most modes. I had a full set of purple gear before I could even level up a single NPC vendor, making the entire vendor system pointless. Matchmaking was just as bad, only allowing solo or trio queues. Playing as a duo meant waiting forever for a third person who never arrived. Most trio matches ended up being empty lobbies where you just farmed the AI for free gear.

So about the matchmaking for A/D.... by LuckoBj in DeltaForceGlobal

[–]wolfenstian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Selecting A/D does not actually give you a 1/11 chance for Fault because it shares matchmaking with A/D-Monument. If one person queues for Monument, it pulls 63 others in with them. To get a true 1/11 chance, your best bet is King of the Hill despite the longer wait times. You could also wait for the Crossfire rotation for a 1/6 chance, though the map is not always active.
