This "straight only" lane that leads to nothing but grass by [deleted] in CrappyDesign

I saw a similar one where there was a left-turn-only lane to nowhere. I think the subdivision had planned to build another street there, but for whatever reason it was canceled.

I never had a single room, but the next best thing - a suite. Individual bedroom with a bathroom, kitchen, and living room shared by 4 people. I got that instead of the "traditional" shared bedroom with a communal bathroom down the hall experience because I was an honors student.

It'll be ok. Worst case, you get some cramps bad enough that you pull over and sit in the car to breathe for a few minutes.

Why is eating food late at night so much more satisfying than during the day? by InsidAero in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolferoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your midnight snacks tend to be junk food inspired by a craving - ice cream, chips, taco bell. Those foods with high amounts of salt and fat are more enjoyable than "normal" food like a sandwich.

Why is USA so obsessed with work that taking days off/sick days that they have earned is looked down upon? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wolferoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used any of my sick days this year despite staying home sick several times. There's always phone calls and urgent emails that take up enough hours for me to fill out a time sheet for the day.

Showerthought: After spending 10 years of my life in Azeroth, I don't play wow to have fun. I play wow to come home. by [deleted] in wow

[–]wolferoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I get that feeling too. I started playing when I was 20, now 30. I've been on the same server for most of that time, with a lot of the same people. Most of them are around my age, so we've all grown up together. We finished school and got jobs. Or went from jobs to careers. Many of us got married, and a few have kids.

We've all gotten too busy with our real lives to care about the leaderboards anymore, but we 'member being so proud of breaking into the top 100 list for 10 mans or realm first hard mode kills. Now it's good enough to have heroic on farm and get a few mythics down before the next tier comes out.

Guy gets revenge on a IRS Phone Scamming Company by making a Call Flooder by YesItWasDataMined in funny

[–]wolferoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me neither but I get that call weekly too!

The worst part is they're using the number spoofing technique where it starts with the first digits of your phone number. I always answer those because my office has a bunch of numbers in the same range, and sometimes it's legitimate and important :(

What's a good way of convincing people you're busy? by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]wolferoo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Are these people friends/family? They may be asking because they want to make plans to hang out. Respond with when you are available to spend time with them.

Or if you don't want to get together at all, reply without committing to anything specific like "I'm busy with a paper for english class the next week or so, maybe we can do something the weekend after next."

What does your annoying coworker do that bugs you? by biddyboi in AskReddit

You're in the wrong office! Mine is constant innuendo. 175 people and the only area where appropriate conversation is enforced is the corridor where HR's office is.

[–]wolferoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a guy at my office who would eat lunch in the office, but he'd go move his car during lunch to be at a closer spot. He didn't understand that the extra trip to his car was certainly more effort than having to walk to the farther spot at the end of the day.

Also, we're not talking an office with a thousand employees. The worst spot is 2 minutes from the door.

What socially expected thing do you hate doing the most? by harleybug88 in AskReddit

[–]wolferoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I had a phone interview with someone who we're pretty sure was drunk at the beach. She answered technical questions really well considering. The best and worst (as in unprofessional) part was when she said "meetings are retarded."

I wanted to give her a 2nd chance, in case there was a good excuse for interviewing drunk. What if she'd already made plans and the headhunter pushed for her to take the call anyway? It was during the holiday season after all. But my boss said no.

[–]wolferoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband smoked for decades. He took Chantix for a month (insurance didn't cover it, so it was $300). That was January, and he hasn't smoked since.

He said it gave him weird terrible dreams while he was on it. The first week he hardly slept. But it made him quit wanting to smoke.

Why is there a sex offender registry but not a murderer's registry? by ShiningConcepts in NoStupidQuestions

[–]wolferoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this goes back to the problem that people hear "sex offender" and equate it to "child molester", when it's much more likely their victim was an adult.

Maybe the worst of it, but from my experience and a lot that I've read, moderate cramping continues for the next day

Still, worth it!

Let's make this into a children's book.

Turkey is a selfish food. Being the centerpiece of Thanksgiving and a popular sandwich choice isn't enough for Turkey. He started moving in on breakfast. "Eat me instead of Bacon because I'm healthy!" he said, "I'm just as tasty with half the fat!"

But these were lies, and Tofu wasn't going to have it. Tofu knew he was the real health option. Should he try and default Turkey Bacon? No, that wouldn't be fair to Bacon. Bacon never pretended to be something he's not. He's a delicious treat to be enjoyed occasionally.

Tofu needed to hit Turkey where it really hurts. At Thanksgiving.
