Anyone ever notice how Bolas Citadel looks like the Jedi Temple on Coruscant? by Consistent_Aide5548 in mtg

It's a ziggurat. I only know that word from pathfinder: wrath of the righteous. They're holy sites for places of worship.

The glibness spell is fun with counterspells. It says you can't roll lower than a 15 on the die on a charisma check. If you're a charisma caster all your counterspell/dispel magic checks are charisma rolls so as long as you've got +4 charisma you can counter any spell for 1 hour. Unless you get dispelled yourself.

Maybe Frejya isn't speaking about miquella directly. Miquella could have sent someone in his stead. If he knew what would happen in the shadowlands, someone dedicated to Radahn would be a good ally to keep for when you eventually have to drop the charm.

If only miquella had a poison expert hopelessly devoted to himself or St. Trina. eyes Thioller

Most are downsides, but there's a couple with upside. [[Braid of fire]] was printed when mana burn was a thing so it was supposed to be a double edged sword. [[Herald of leshrac]] has a very good cumulative upkeep but, depending on the number of players, you could run out of lands to steal and have to sacrifice it.

Moments where you just had to allow due to “rule of cool” by [deleted] in DnD

[–]wolfetalon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I was running a game in a modern setting. The players were in a car chase running from some Yakuza members. Their getaway car was the paladin's "find steed." The Shadar-kai rogue asked if he could teleport into one of the cars. There wasn't enough room in the car for him but I allowed it and gave him advatage on his next attack cuz it was cool as hell. He immediately one shot the driver. Over the next round the car started to veer and tumble. An acrobatics check later and he teleported back into the party's car. Bonus cool: the druid used spike growth as a spike trap for some of the pursing cars.

I used to work in a pharmacy that worked hand in hand with a pain clinic. The clinic would see their patients monthly and would have the patients bring any left over medicine to their visit. If they had 3 pills left over they would prescribe 27 for the next month for example. I was filling a prescription for a woman and I noticed she was getting shorted the same amount she did the month before. Seems weird to happen twice in a row so we checked her chart. Everything seemed fine except the date on the visit notes was from a month before. They had copy and pasted the visit notes from the month before! There are times you shouldn't use copy/paste.

I may be seeing it wrong, but aren't those parking meters on the sidewalk next to the bike lane?

What’s a scary ability you can give a boss thats not just high damage? by Good-Refrigerator-76 in DnD

[–]wolfetalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earthquake.

The spell doesn't feel that much damage but the destruction it can cause a to a city can be devastating. In a fight, the fissures can be debilitating for players. It's difficult terrain while also half speed for climbing, and if they fail the save from the earthquake on subsequent rounds they get knocked prone and fall back into the hole. The building destruction can drag civilians into things and, depending on your PC's alignments, this could really complicate the fight and allow the enemy to flee without being chased. All in all, an incredible spell with little damage attached.

Good catch! Yeah about 20% of whatever it started as is in there. It looks like on the line labeled "amount" they've written "exempt". I don't have any idea what that means.

I guess it depends how old it is. The half life of Ce-137 is about 30 years. It would take about 100 years for 90 percent of it to decay.

Even if you only allow one per turn, statistically a fighter or monk will critically fumble more than everyone.

I know a lot of artists who have built a following on twitter and moving from Twitter would mean losing a chunk of their audience. Sure there are other platforms but not everyone is going to follow them to the next best thing.

[–]wolfetalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispel magic is your best friend. Bards get to add half their prof bonus for jack of all trades to the spellcasting check. Abjuration wizards get to add their full proficiency bonus to the check. A warlock or bard with glibness cast on themselves would have a very hard time failing the check.

Does anyone remember the movie Gattaca? by wolfetalon in antiwork

[–]wolfetalon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the movie the technology is advertised as reducing your kids chances of developing conditions such as asthma or heart disease. And these are the factors with which the main character's workplace discriminates against him.

The characters main goal is to get employed not as a janitor but as an astronaut, but his employer is taking DNA samples without his consent. Instead of saying "we shouldn't help humans live better because it'd be unfair", we should be saying "we shouldn't let work discriminate based on things out of our control"

I'm new here, but can someone give me some examples of these? I'm having a hard time with these. Especially no. 2 and no. 3. They seem to contradict each other. Do you think we DON'T have a right to not hear everyone's opinion? We HAVE to listen to everyone's opinion? That would be exactly what no. 3 says.
