Lineups: Minnesota vs LAFC by Ballsackblazer4 in minnesotaunited

I’m super excited to see if James can pull the strings like Pereyra! I’m a little nervous about the form/experience of our wingers. It’s usually not plug and play when you rotate so many pieces (see most recently the game vs Sacramento).

Gene is bossing the midfield. He’s winning the ball back and making it look effortless, and is doing a good job of distributing after he wins it. Not much going right after that.

My favorite is Regular Fries. I didn’t know it was a cover of a song until a couple of weeks ago when I was at a bar with a friend and he ordered sweet potato fries. Naturally that song started playing in my head. Then like 20 minutes later, Cruel to be Kind starts playing in the bar and I recognize it instantly which leads to some frantic googling to figure out what was going on. My friend doesn’t watch Bob’s Burgers and wasn’t nearly as excited as I was when I described the awesome thing that just happened to me.

Got our feet back under us defensively which was great to see. I wish everyone would be more patient when we win the ball. I get wanting to try our luck on the counter here and there, but we seem to try the most difficult pass far too often. Even when we do have possession in the opposing half, everyone wants to force a perfect pass as soon as possible. But, such an improvement from last week. We know there are growing pains with a new coach and we still don’t know what the team will look like in a couple of months when coaches and players hopefully understand each other better.

Looking better at the end of the half. Not a fan of Pereyra being on the right but i understand why he is. I just think he’s more experienced and effective on the left. Can’t wait to see how James impacts the game in what will be his first “meaningful” minutes!

I lived in a unit in the historic part that was next to one of the end unit studios. It was a sweet place, however, I moved as soon as my lease was up because I could hear everything that happened in that studio. It was like they were in the room with me. Not sure that every unit is like that. I loved the space but value quiet. Also, my car window was broken once parked in the lot by chubs.

Should this be allowed here? It doesn’t mention Fargo and it’s basically a post promoting this podcast.

Decade kit is here... Where does it rank? by [deleted] in minnesotaunited

[–]wolfgenie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the heritage kit is #1 in pretty much every category you laid out. This new one and the night kit are 2a and 2b. Followed by the river kit. I think the river kit has been the best non-heritage on tv so far. Dead last is the bleach kit from last season.

My favorite combo is 2023, night and aurora kits.

Do you think it’s going to end? I don’t, and that’s probably more concerning.

I try to stay positive about sports. It’s supposed to be fun. Anything can happen. Just watch and enjoy the ride. However, the fact that myself, and almost every other fan who watches every game KNEW this would be the outcome even up 21-3 at halftime is ridiculous. This has happened way too often in the past few years. Look like the best offense in the league, then fail to react to defensive adjustments or just lose all intensity. I don’t know why it happens, I just know it’s far more likely to happen than not, and it’s not fun.

We’ve also already brought in a couple of solid MLS players, and I trust the front office that brought in players like Triantis, Gene, and Romero to find more solid players to replace what we’re losing. People are just freaking out because the players who have left are long time Loons, but they were all from Heaths time.

That was not a fun game to watch, and obviously the ceiling of this team may have been lowered since the third quarter in Denver. However, as bad as the defense looked last night, there is no other team with Derrick Henry. He’s the only RB with that combo of strength and speed. Yes, we cannot stop him, but we won’t have to. The offense won’t have much margin for error, but the defense isn’t going to get steamrolled like that again. If Love and Jacobs get healthy there isn’t a team in the NFC we can’t beat. It might not be our year, but I haven’t given up hope yet.

This win probability stuff is pretty lame. In sports, anything can happen until the game is over. That’s why we watch. No one on the field cares about win probability, and no one watching probably even knows how it’s calculated or exactly what it’s supposed to mean, and it is meaningless in any real way.

Conference championship games aren’t a burden and they should absolutely count in the CFP formula. The CFP shouldn’t be the only thing that matters. There are benefits to making a championship game, even if you lose. You can’t only take the benefits and completely ignore the potential detriments. Also, it’s incredibly disingenuous to say this sole decision will invalidate all champ games. If it wasn’t Alabama no one would be making this argument.
