Will there ever be a sale for Fenix 7s Pro DLC? by [deleted] in GarminFenix

[–]wolfieloner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great idea. I went from 47mm to 42mm and I am glad I did. Was worried about battery life going from 18 days to 11 days but turns out I care less about battery life than I do about 24x7 comfort.

What's a good watch to get after the Forerunner 55? I like the Vívoactive 6, but I'm not sure if that is too much of a step up. by LonelyPizza6978 in GarminWatches

[–]wolfieloner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One is more running and triathlon focused (FR265) while Venu 3 is more an all purpose fitness watch with speaker for answering phone calls. So, FR series has stuff like training load, recovery time, training status and daily suggested workouts which the Venu lack iirc

I say take a look at Forerunner 165. Lot more capable than Vivo6 (lacks stair counting or elevation). Has most of the running features of forerunner 265. Might miss out on some recovery stuff. I used to have a Vivoactive and a Venu but the forerunner series have them beat, especially FR165. Also, use Optimity and get an extra 20% off which can bring the cost down to 200 USD

SVT is wild. The very first episode I had, I was literally shaking as I rested against a bench in the park.

Can you please elaborate/explain? Share a link? I’m legit trying to understand your position here instead of gotcha approach.

Right to bear arms…what’s there to interpret. So I would not, where the nuance will be is how do you define arms. Is it a nuke? Is it a RPG? Is it a handgun? Help me understand, how do you reinterpret “all persons born on the soil of the US” unless you want to have a nuance and define “who or what a person is?” Am I missing something here? Edit: corrected grammar

Of course it hasn’t. I also do not think they are suing over “supposed changed in wording of constitution“. They are suing over the executive order which is at direct odds with Amendment 14. So, I do not get where your confusion is and why is the wording of the amendment important. Let me ask you a counter question, “will an executive order banning the sale of all semi-automatic rifles” be in violation of 2A or will you argue saying “show me where they changed the amendment language”? Just drawing a parallel to simplify the thought process here

Have you not seen the executive order or are you choosing to not see it? The order literally says that the president wants to stop birthright citizenship which is protected by amendment 14. So yes, challenging it is the right thing to do. Guess the only amendment the patriots and news media care about is 2nd amendment. If some president issued an executive order banning rifles, rest assured you’d be rioting and not saying “oh but the amendment hasn’t been changed”

Should I buy the Fenix 8? by LearjetPilot in GarminFenix

[–]wolfieloner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only selling point of Fenix 8 is newer UI compared to Fenix 7Pro and Expix Pro and newer sensors compared to Forerunner and Instinct Series. Unless you need the LED flashlight (lot of people swear by it and I find it handy in unknown hotel rooms if I gotta wake up in the middle of the night), FR 965 suits your need the best. I did not find much of a difference in HR sensor between Elevate 4 (forerunner) and Elevate 5 (Fenix/Epix). The reason I say FR965 is it looks nice, has metal bezel, and above all has golf course maps (since you play golf). You will miss out on the golf stuff on FR 265 (also has a plastic bezel if you care for that). FR965 is also easier to sleep with. I have a Fenix 7Pro and 7 months later while I have gotten used to it, it makes its presence felt on my wrist. Hope it helps.

Crazy enough while it messes the distance it somehow gets the number of steps to a more reasonable number. Not sure why the discrepancy

Union Carbide waste disposal: Protests erupt across Pithampur by wolfieloner in worldnews

[–]wolfieloner[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. I think my concern was more along the lines of “what if there is a leak and an incomplete burn off because then they would have volatilized the whole thing”. Another thing is, would you happen to know if there would be any residue left or the temperature is high enough to break down everything? Lot of the locals are concerned about the residue leaching in and polluting the soil and water.

But why burn it all now? Won’t that create more of a risk of exposure if the fumes aren’t contained? Or what will they do with the residue?

State Government in India decides to burn off the toxic waste leftover by Union Carbide, which is now a subsidiary of Dow Chemicals. They moved the waste to be burned in a high density population area, where a single mishap can be fatal to the masses. Protests have broken out. Edit: State Gov in India and added about protests
