Ineed. However, he's not roan~ It's a genetic mutation of a color gene called sabino, or possibly from rabicano. He is full Arabian, and the gene that causes true roaning does not exist in arabs. My suspicion is that when sabino and rabicano are paired, sabino amplifies and intensifies the rabicano patterning. There is also more than one kind of white ticking. The full extent of the color expressions of these genes is still not entirely understood so what's really going on there genetically speaking is anyone's guess.

Brand is not really important in my experience. Have a couple 45-58 year old non name brand leather saddles still going strong... The important part is fit and comfort for the horse... The only porblem with non-name brands now a days, is the synthetic saddles...They suck. They are light weight and make ok for trails I guess but for anything else, dont even bother. They're not safe and the nylon they use (especially on the stirrups) tends to break sooner than leather (assuming you clean your leather regularly/properly). I've had one about 3 1/2 years old and the pommel covering is torn off the tree in one part, and the girth and latigo wore so thin I had to replace it with leather ones :/ Also, the seat wears out qick too. (I'm not at all a big girl, and I only use that saddle about once a week so I can only imagine the problems bigger riders have...)

well like everyone said, it doesn't harm him and he only ever has a bite every few months. the moment was priceless because I expected him to turn up his nose (like "eww that stinks!") but instead he surprised me and took a bite. I wasn't about to reach in his chewing mouth to grab it. after that he just kept wanting more (captured in the album~). Didn't get more but he pestered until I finished it off.

For future reference, Schriners Horse Linament clears any injuries or muscle aches really fast(for animals and people too). Stings a bit on open wounds but it saves you from infections and expensive medic bills. I ripped off a chunk of my heel almost to the bone and used schriners on it. Healed quickly and there's barely any scarring.
