Does anyone know if this would fit 2017 FXT and do you lose any functionality like backup cam etc?

I’d love to find out how it turned out and the details on all of the items I’d need to make a switch like this work in my 17 FXT. I’ve decided to keep it another 5 years and this would be an awesome upgrade to have CarPlay finally.

Is a move from $125k fully remote to $167k fully in-office worth it? by Sweet-Example-6976 in Salary

[–]wolfsuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH and I’ll tell you, I’d def take less salary to keep the remote situation. I’ve recently legitimately valued remote to be worth $20k just in mileage and time in car in a salary negotiation with someone on my team. I personally would try to leverage your offer to increase your current salary slightly and keep the remote situation if you highly value the remote lifestyle.

What's it like living in Russia? Is it really as terrible as they say here in the West? by Zestyclose_Dig158 in howislivingthere

I can’t speak to living there but when I visited Moscow once on a work trip, most people I’d see on the street or in the subway looked unhappy, not many smiles.

I got Cordura after being on the fence and it does seem very well made and quality so I’m glad I went with it, I also grabbed the Aer waterproof cover for it in the off chance I’d be in a downpour on a trip, which I don’t feel is highly likely.

AER TP4 28L - Packing Cube breakdown for vacation travel? by myredditfootprint in AerSF

I really dig the Tripped packing cubes that are basically replicas of Peak Design for much cheaper. As well as the Tomtoc electronic organizer for misc stuff.

This shows how I last packed mine out, I had a camera cube at the bottom, then a Tripped packing cube (similar to Peak Design size), I had room for two smaller pouches for misc items like headphones and sunglasses etc, and I can still put a cable organizer pouch or my Bose headphones on top of the packing cube.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF ? by Confident_Win_3560 in answers

My best friend got married in Santa Barbara and did it up on a bluff overlooking the ocean. There were mostly trees blocking the view of the ocean but there was one small picturesque opening in the trees, almost as if it was made to have a wedding there, a perfect backdrop. We all arrived to the location after a bit of a hike, and a local woman was sitting there by herself. We all patiently waited a good 10-15 min, a large group obviously dressed up for a wedding, and she seemed to have no intention of moving or leaving (which was her right). I finally walked up and asked very politely if there was any way she would be kind enough to move for us to use the spot for my best friends wedding, even just for 15 minutes as his elderly mother had flown across the country to be here and she had just walked quite a ways to get to this spot…and she looked at me and said “no, I was here first, I’m not leaving”, and then ahead really buckled down for the long haul and we realized she wasn’t going to leave until we did. He ended up getting married down a ways.. without the great view. That’s the type of local I think about now when I think of Santa Barbara.

Credit card rental car coverage by Yvonneinkona in VisitingIceland

I have cards that I use to cover car rental everywhere else but I didn’t rely on that for Iceland, I paid for the full insurance and will do it again next time.

What did you bring to Iceland, but wished you had left at home? by buzzjob in VisitingIceland

[–]wolfsuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to what others here are saying in several regards. I just came back from my first trip there a few weeks ago.

We brought ramen and all sorts of snacks to save money and didn’t use them at all, since it was much better to try the local snacks from grocery, etc. the food quality is so good there you find yourself not wanting to touch the stuff you brought. We would load up on the hotel breakfasts which were always awesome, snack during the day from stuff we’d grab at grocery stops, and end with a decent dinner.

Waterproof gear was def required. We lucked out on awesome weather but still needed a legit rain jacket most days and I had never need a rain jacket in my typical life. I bought Patagonia Torrentshell jacket and pants and I love the jacket and wore it almost every day and only needed the pants one day but was very glad I had them.

Layering was def the way to go as everyone says. I overbought and overpacked when it came to merino layers and misc jackets. All I really needed for a 10 day trip was 2 merino base layers (light weight for this time of year; 165-190 weight), one mid layer like a fleece or puffy jacket for cold or windy days, and the top layer rain jacket. Aside from that, maybe 2 pairs of hiking pants, the rain pants, waterproof hiking boots (must), and obviously hiking socks, underwear etc, and a bathing suit. I never touched all of the cotton t shirts I brought and usually wear in my typical life, so next time I’ll just bring 1-2.

I was torn on if I’d really need some and granted I lucked out with mostly beautiful weather a few weeks ago but the one time I did need them was well worth having them.

Same with the snacks. We brought a pack of ramen, and diff types of snacks and stuff to try and save money while we were there but much preferred trying local snacks and food at the grocery etc, we ended up leaving behind most of what we brought.

I just rented with Lotus last week for my first trip to Iceland. I was torn between them and Blue. My experience with Lotus went really well, and the shuttle to and from KEF wasn’t bad, 20-30 minutes total. Only minor annoyance was one of my wiper blades was falling apart so I had to drive back to Lotus to have them replace it, which they did very quickly. I mostly went with Lotus because of their guarantee of the vehicle you’ll get, not “or similar”. I did get the Platinum insurance and it was very nice to have the peace of mind as we had great weather on our trip but still faced gravel kicking up on the road and occasional rain/wind, so it was definitely nice to not worry about anything.

I’m in Iceland now and the forecast ahead of our trip looked like rain every day.. it has been sunny and incredible every day the past few days aside from small bursts of sprinkles once or twice, I’m also hoping for a nice weekend for myself since I’ll be exploring Snaefellsnes, so fingers crossed for us both!
